New Adventure - The Days Are Yours

Post by billy bob »

Hello everyone!

This is an adventure I made this year. It will probably take around 90 minutes to play. It is extremely accessible and can be played by anyone. Even players who have not played WA could play this without much guidance.

The adventure doesn't really have much puzzling in it, just a few very easy ones. I think it's mostly just atmosphere and story.

It will mean a lot to me if you play it. I definitely haven't done anything like this before.

It is not possible to die in this adventure. It is not possible to reach a fail-state in this adventure.
While it is possible to get stuck and not know how to progress, it is not too likely to happen. If you get stuck at the beginning, you just need to:
Click on the menu icon in the top right corner. That will release you from the dialogue box that you are trapped in.
If you get stuck anywhere else then just ask.

This manages to be a deeply thought-provoking work of art while also being a beautiful love letter to the Wonderland Adventures series. Thank you so much for this. I think anyone who has the series close to their heart should check it out.

After my previous computer started having technical issues and had to be replaced, I wasn't sure if I'd ever download the WA editor again, but obviously for this adventure I had to redownload it. I'm glad I did; I'm always eager to see creative output from people who I value. Selfishly, I would love it if all of my friends were also highly prolific artists...

I definitely enjoyed this a lot. I was impressed with how solidly a lot of the ideas are communicated, with setups and payoffs and some clever iconographic choices to reinforce the themes you were exploring. I can tell how earnest this is based on what I know of your own experiences and outlook, as well as how central Wonderland has been to a lot of your life. "People who are intimately familiar with Wonderland and also have the mindset where this would be likely to resonate with them" feels like a niche within a niche, but if anything, I admire your commitment to putting so much into a work without worrying about its broad appeal. This also feels like one of the most mature things to have ever come out of Wonderland's community, which may say something about how old Wonderland has gotten at this point, because I'm pretty sure at least half of us were children earlier.

I'm glad I got to play this tonight, and it makes me want to find the time and energy to start creating again... (not necessarily talking about WA, even though that's what forum we're in, but hey, anything's possible I Guess)

EDIT: Actually I missed 6 coins, so come to think of it, maybe I didn't properly finish this adventure... :stinkylol:
i should change my signature to be rude to people who hate pictures of valves
