Models aren't working

Post by wonderlandlover » Tue Nov 29, 2005 8:23 pm

Ok, Now I hope I am posting this in the right place, because I don't want to cause any discourse if not  !

I have downloaded nearly all the custom levels, and their respective models. Now my problem is the models do not show up in the levels when I play them. The only one that has shown up is JeffH "WaterWater" one, which had to be worked differently.

For instance, Shorty's "Strawberry Dacquiri" and Lillian's "Scariest Level Ever". The haunted mansion or strawberries are nowhere to be seen.

Can somebody please help me?

(I guess I should say I right-click on the download icon and click "Save target as", put it in the CustomModels folder, then extract them. Do I need to do anything else?)

Yes you do then need to do something else!

Go to Windows Explorer and go to your Custom Models folder and double click on the appropriate model zip file. Unzip it to Custom Models folder. You should then see a new folder appear with the model name in it. You can then delete the downloaded zipfile!

Hope that helps :P Come back if it doesn't and we'll help you again :D

Good luck 8)

You have to unzip the model files. You can use WinZip or WinRar for this, or if you're using Windows XP you don't need additional software - in this case just right click on the files after downloading and make Windows extract them.

Hope this helps :D

I forgot to say that I have been extracting them. The folders do show up, and I delete the zip files.

Thanks so much!!!!

OK. I was not extracting them to the custommodels folder. They were going into a sub-folder.

Your post Lillian helped me figure it out! :D

Thank you! Thank you! to all!

Thanks so much Wonderlandlover - I think the models really help with the telling of the Coin Quest story, and I get a lot of fun out of designing them. 8)

I've recently started Liz's Coin Quest series and I'm thoroughly enjoying it.

Just one problem - I can't get the custom models to work. The games obviously play without them, but I know I'm missing out. I've downloaded them, unzipped them and put them in the Custom Models folder, but each level that has a model refuses to load - I just get a messafe saying it can't find the model jpg. I've also tried just including them in the Coin Quest folder in Custom Levels. Then the level works but the custom models have not replaced the standard ones.

What as I doing wrong?

Hi xrppzi - how do you pronounce that?

Sorry you're having trouble with the models. If you download the whole of Coin Quest from the Midnight Post, Patrick has zipped them up so that all the files automatically go where they should. Here's the link, which also tells you what to do:

Hope it works and thanks for playing. :D :D
