atkent, if your talking about the very last part, where all 4 charaters have to "out run" the boulders the is no solution except good timing & quick fingers. If your stuck on how to complete the level I think this link should help you, it did me.

If you read that thread you can see I did tell everyone that all four do not have to run 'one after the other'.

Here's how the 'smart' people do it:
Stinky pushes the boulder and waits at the left of the Blue button.
Stinky steps on and off Blue button, letting boulder pass.
Stinky can then head down to step on Yellow button, and immediately head left (with boulder following him). He should stop on the square right of the Green button.
Waiting for the boulder to appear from the right of the screen and timing it right, Stinky can step on and off the Green button, thus releasing the boulder from the top. If one's timing is good, both boulders will collide and everything is good.

Piece of cake!!! :D :D :D

Bear, are you feeling ok? You're not in that thread at all, which thread are you talking about? :?

Plus, I read your walkthrough above, and had a look at the level to see if I could see your way of thinking. I'm probably being very thick here, but how does Stinky push the keg round all on his own? Or have you found a way of not needing the keg at the other end? :? :?

Bear, I'm as confussed a Pauline, after reading this I did another search for the treadmill, reading all the posts & only found 1 post where you replied to lizwiz with a pm'd solution. If I had seen any solution posted by you, of course I would have made a link to that post, after all you are the master.

Oops!

Thanks Pauline.

That should read "If you read this thread" with a link to ---> http://pcpuzzle.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=32267

And, no... the first keg is not required; only the keg near the end is. Do you mean the keg nearest Stinky?? Has everyone here, (except me), been trying to push that keg all the way around while trying to outrun those boulders??? Oh Dear!!!!

There's a much easier way to remove the box next to the second keg (near the end).

I can see now why people can't do this if they are killing themselves over and over trying to do something that's not needed.

Bear, of course I pushed the 1st keg all the way through, while trying to outrun the boulders. If there is an easier, softer way please share with us.

Bear, I do mean the keg near Stinky. How are you getting rid of the wooden box if you don't blow it up with the keg? Has it got something to do with the boulders? :? :?

Laura, I don't think Bear's way will be any easier to do, it still requires timing according to him.

If I, decrepit old woman that I am, can do it the 'right' way, I'm sure anyone can. I kept one hand hovering ove the enter key, and moved the characters with the other. Then when you change direction to get the keys, you can keep your finger on the arrow key and just press enter, so you change over characters in one smooth movement.

Good Luck

Bear, we must have been posting as the same time, I think I'll have to replay this level ..... Dum diddy Dum. Thanks again old wise one.

Now that is clever. :D I can't remember if I still had that prism left over though, or the reflector. I do remember getting in a bit of a tizzy putting everything in the right place there.

I'm surprised Malc never knew about this. Or did he?????

Question on this one. I did get it all figured out and did finish the level. After Peegue has gotten the box blown up by the fireball, how did you manage to push the prism that is right in front of the cannon to it's left? From where I see, it cannot be pushed since you cannot push it from the right. I am just curious as to how you managed to push it to the left.

That's because you did it exactly the same way as Malc put in the spoiler on the Hints pages. I didn't do Peegue's section that way.

Look at the picture below.

I manoeuvred the pieces (i.e reflector and prism) to the positions shown. When the shot fires, Peegue simply lets it pass him and then stands on the White button, thus blowing up the box. He then places the reflector on the White button which opens the White gates and frees the other prism to allow me (when needed) to shoot the box by the keg (see pics above) and avoid all the running around with boulders that everyone else seems to have done.

Easy really.

The lesson here is: even in The Void there can be more than one solution.

I have no doubt that how you did it works too. I just couldn't figure out how you placed the prism where your picture showed. I was just glad I finally got the level finished and not by cheating.

I wasn't logged in before I saw the whole post. I now see how you did it. You'll have to pardon me. I have a 2 mnth old and therefore am not getting a whole lot of sleep. As well as a 19 mnth old who has a cold and gave it to me. :( Ah well. Such is the life of a parent. :)

I know that, I was just kidding you.

Not sure what you mean by that, Amy; there is no way to cheat a level in Secret Worlds, unless you mean using the Ctrl/F9 thingie. I wouldn't encourage using that anyway; it means you don't get a Gold Coin and you need 109 Gold Coins to see... it.

Glad you're enjoying the joys of Parenthood.

By cheating Bear, it was the CTRL F9 thing. I try to go back and figure the level out if I can. If I die like many times, then I look here to see if someone else has figured out a better way to get the job done!

TREADMIL ICE BLOCKS

Post by DRAKO » Thu Dec 22, 2005 3:02 pm

 THANKS FOR YOUR REPLY. I AM VERY RED FACED AS I KEEP SMASHING THE BOULDER. I READ YOUR POST BUT WHAT I DON'T GET IS THAT WHEN YOU PUT BOTH ICE BLOCKS AT EITHER END QUOOKIE CAN'T GO STRAIGHT AHEAD TO GET THE BOULDER MOVING IN THE RIGHT POSITION TO GET IT ROLLING OVER THE TIMER. THE OTHER THING I TRIED (WHERE I KEEP SMASHING THE BOULDER) IS PUTTING ONE BLOCK AT ONE END AND THE OTHER JUST TO THE RIGHT OF IT'S CORRECT POSITION. I THEN PUSH THE BOULDER UP AND TRY TO RUN DOWN & PUSH 2ND ICE BLOCK BACK IN CORRECT POSITION. OBVIOUSLY SO FAR I HAVE BEEN LESS THAT SUCCESSFUL. I FEEL SO STUPID AND FRUSTRATED BUT I WILL KEEP TRYING. IF YOU HAVE ANY ADVICE I WOULD BE GRATEFUL.
THANKS AGAIN

Place the plasma boxes and the boulder in position (plasma boxes on top and bottom, boulder in the center). Walk around along "the edge" until you're one square above or below the boulder. Slide over the ice to stand next to the boulder, give it a push and move away quickly.

That should do the trick :D
