timer on vs timer off

Post by Muzozavr » Fri Jan 13, 2006 5:07 am

Myself I prefer to play with timer off. It feels more in the whole puzzling spirit.
I think if someone prefer action spirit, he will play with timer on.

Also if someone just like this pressure he will also play with timer on.
How do YOU play?

My idea for the timer

Post by chrise » Fri Jan 13, 2006 3:02 pm

I think there should be an option where the timer is on, but when it reaches 0, rather than killing you, the level continues but gives a score as if you had selected untimed. That way, if you complete it within the time, you score as if you were using timed mode, but if you don't, it is as if you had selected untimed mode.

For those like me who really like to take their time over things, there could be an "in your own time" mode - time stands still and nothing moves, shoots, electrocutes, etc. except while you are moving, character-switching, or holding down a special 'wait' key. For consistency with the normal mode, there should still be a period of game time which still has to be elapsed before you are allowed to change characters (this occurs in the normal mode in the time while the camera is approaching the level). Scores should be reduced or flagged when this mode is in use.

In Puzzle section I posted it since it's puzzling. But I will repeat here too.

1) Call your player "MOO" (without quotes)
2) the bak file should read moo.bak
3) Read the name backwards...
4) Kaboom???
