From what material do you think that bucket is made?

Ignore the items and walk around the pool? It's a long way, but it's better than risking your life.

A miner is deep in a cave. He finds a lava pool, with water on the other side. All the miner has is a pickaxe and an empty bucket. How does he get to the other side of the lava pool?

Hint:

Ooh, Minecraft.

Use teh pick to get cobblestone. Use teh cobblestone to make a bridge to teh water. Use teh water to make all the remaining lava obsidian.

I don't know what's "cobblestone", and I'm not familiar with "Minecraft". However, if this is correct, then I guess Nobody's (username) answer is also correct:
Use the pickaxe to cut a bridge-shape out of the rock, and move it over the pool.
Although I feel more for Muzo's answer to take the long walk around.

And even more: Don't bother about the lava cave, Go back home and pull open a bottle of beer.

The lava pool is only a foot wide. Step over and have a drink.

Nice answers! What I had in mind was just to mine around the pool.

I had that idea too, but I liked my 1-foot wide one. :)

I, honestly, liked ALL of your answers.

I laughed insanely hard at this answer.

Well, I'm aware that it was not really an answer to your puzzle. But I'm glad that you could laugh about it. :D

bump.

A guy drinks some soda. The soda can hold 21 FL OZ of soda. The soda was brand new and the person only drank 20 FL OZ. How is this possible?

It can hold 21, but it's not sure that it actually does. Perhaps it only holds 20. 8)

Correct! It had 20 FL OZ inside it, but it could hold 21 FL OZ.

Or they were measuring in imperial FL OZ whilst he was measuring in US customary FL OZ.

(Actually, that's not exact: 21 imperial is close to 20.17 US customary... but who cares, it's funny)

OK to stop the potential finger-pointing, here's an AWESOME puzzle I stumbled upon just now. I copied it from another website. PLEASE don't google, otherwise it's pointless.

You go in through one hole, you come out through three holes. Once you're inside you're ready to go outside, but once you're outside you're still inside. What is it?
