This is all getting very complicated
I hope I understand it all when the game comes out.
Is it nearly ready yet Patrick?

Not quite yet. In fact, there's been a few slowdowns lately.
It might - and let me duck behind a steel box before I say this - delay the release by a couple of weeks, i.e. into July.
Now, that's not for sure yet, but it is a possibility - it just depends on how quick the last few things work out. We obviously want to make sure it holds up to (or surpasses) the standards of our other games rather than rushing at the very end.
(runs away, ducking fireballs)
Can I offer another screenshot as consolation? This one shows off the new lighting options.

children slowdowns?
** sigh ** ...oh well, it's going to be worth the wait

looks nice Pat - consider me appeased

Are they little balls of light???
Did you read my last question just back a page? ... oh... is this what you meant by slowdowns...

This little delay is fine with me (although I hate to wait) - I'd rather wait a little more for perfection!

just want to say that since this is the last version of Wonderland we'd be seeing for a while, I'll take perfection over early release any day. (And in case you're wondering, no, my birthday already passed...

I hope I don't have to wait for my birthday - it's not till November!

I hate to wait, but I can understand delay for a good reason. This sounds like a good reason. I know all of us hate getting things that don't work properly, so I appreciate the fact that Midnight Synergy wants to make sure that they do the best job possible.

I'll just have to find something other than my nails to chew in anticipation!

Meanwhile, we have a lot of very good custom levels to play.

Hey Patrick, how about letting us Beta test it for you?
I'll bet we could find the bugs for you!
I'm sure all are more than willing to help.

Hi Pat,
10 days since the last sneek peek... how about something of the box generator??? Just to keep us going

I guess it's been a while, so here's a shot of Qookie checking out his/her mushroom garden. Now who let that chomper in???
I'm just putting together the finishing touches on the new "official" level set, as well as sorting the hundreds and hundreds of custom levels. Which makes me wonder - is anyone even going to play the new deluxe level set, or are y'all just going to jump right into the level editor???

BOTH! Actually, I know I will have to play it for awhile to get the feel for it before even thinking about making a level. Then again, the whole thing may be too overwhelming!
OH BOY - we're getting closer, aren't we!!!!!

Thanks Pat
That'll keep me going a bit longer...
And don't worry - everyone knows how good your levels are... if everything else you've done is anything to go on, there won't be a flurry of new levels anytime soon. I'm really keen to get in & do some custom work but I can see it being delayed when the new levels are presented with the update.
How many days to go??? (so we can do a count-down

)
Robbie
PS We need a new title for 1000 postings (for majic1)... and soon the way she's going

Me, too!!!! I'll play (and try to beat) every single new level you give us.....after all......you are Stinkys' daddy, and will always be the best!!
I still enjoy going back through the original game.....there are STILL about 5 or 6 boards on it, and about 10 boards on Return that I haven't beaten yet

I have to agree with Majic, I will hang out and play the new level set first, then dabble in the editor (for my own amusement), observe others first NEW levels..................and then.........maybe, submit something of my own
Can't wait!

ps: My Birthday is in July also!!!!

Me too!

I'll definitly play the new game first. After that, I'll start working on the editor.

I am anxiously awaiting the Deluxe version, Patrick. I can't wait to see it! Thanks for the sneak peeks. They are really getting me excited.

Well, the new level set will be a little different than the RTW levels. Those were meant to be, for the most part, levels that would push the original concept to the boundary. Either in "new ways to do things" or, for the later levels, in the degree of challenge.
The new set will be slightly easier levels (although you logic nuts don't have to worry - there's still some real zingers spread throughout them), and are wrapped in a little bit of a story. So you'll get a few easier expository levels explaining what's going on, mixed with levels introducing the new gameplay elements, mixed with tougher challenges. Should be fun.
Also another feature: during gameplay you will both see the number of rainbow and bonus coins displayed. If you find all bonus coins the level will get a "perfect" mark that is displayed in the level selection screen. Some of you might have fun going through the old levels again and getting straight perfects everywhere. Same goes for custom levels - perfectly solved levels will get a little star next to the score.
Oh, and I've changed how the game saves customlevel scores, so when you copy over your old player file it should (keeping fingers crossed) display all your previously solved custom levels again (for those of you who moved things around and lost scores). However, to get those perfect marks you would need to replay the level as those are not transfered (obviously, since the did not exist in the previous version).

Your scores are transfered, just not the little stars next to them (if applicable). If you are a perfectionist and want a list of stars on your screen for all 700+ levels, then, yes, you'd better take a week off work.

Well that just works out to around 14 minutes per level, assuming you don't need to eat, drink, sleep (or pee, since you mention it!

). No Problem! Shape Up! Get with it! You never see Stinky and Loof sleeping or eating, do you? (unless they nibble on those mushrooms when they get a chance)
Sheeesh!

Patrick's descripton of the new Wonderland sounds WONDERFUL! I was hoping that it wasn't going to be even harder than RTW, but it sounds like there will be at least some levels at my dubious skill level! I'm so excited!
Well, in the meantime, the new Thief, Dark Shadows, is out, and I'm deeply immersed in thievery so this should keep me from going too crazy until mid-July. Anybody else play Thief?
