And now it is time for a side competition, open to anyone. I know players on this board often run a "who did what" competition. I'm not quite sure of the ruleset that is usually followed. I'll make it up as I go along.
So here's the deal: send in an e-mail with your guesses as to who did which of the 13 levels in the 5th Anniversary competition. This is extra hard since you don't actually know who all participated, although some folks have stated so in this thread (and others).
Your entry should look something like this:
#1 - Username
#2 - Username
#3 - ...
...
#13 - Username
Scoring is as follows:
* You get 1 point for every name in the list that actually did submit a level. (e.g. you guess BruceB did #1. He didn't, but he did submit a level, that's 1 Point for you). If you also put down BruceB for #2, you still only get one point.
* You get 4 points for every entry that is correctly identified (e.g. you guess BruceB did #1, and he really did. That's 4 points for you). If you put BruceB down for both #1 and #2, you'd only get 4 points for guessing #1, but no additional points for #2. This might affect your strategy... you might in fact with to put down a name several times. Or not.
Entries are due Oct 15th as well (as are the scores for the levels).
Now, anyone can enter this competition, and with a little detective work you are guaranteed a few of the 1 pointers. Since Janet has graciously donated her Midnight Synergy Games Collection CD from the Atari competition (she already has several (!) copies

), I will put her copy up for grabs to the person who gets the highest score in this competition.
Have fun!

Well Patrick, they usually post a list of level makers. That is so nice of Janet to donate her MS games collection CD. I've been making notes as I've been playing, I think I've sussed out a couple of who-done-its.

Ah-Ha... I just skimmed over the rules and never really read them, I see now we have to do a bit of detective work.....

Scoring Deadline is almost here... just a reminder. Also remember the separate who did what contest.
Now for the scoring:
Each level should be scored in three aspects:
a) Fun: 0-4 points, a zero score would be an unplayable level, a four-point score would be an exceptionally fun level (use your own judgement as to what you think of as "fun" - you might enjoy really tough logic puzzles, or a fun and crazy rollercoaster ride).
b) Inventiveness: 0-3 points, a zero score would be a level in which you've "seen it all before", a 3-point score would indicate a level with new ideas or very inventive uses of gameplay elements.
c) Anniversary Theme: 0-3 points, a zero score would be a level that has nothing to do with the Anniversary, a three-point score would be a level that celebrates Wonderland's fifth anniversary so well, you want to have the level creator plan your next birthday bash!
In total, then, your score will be out of a maximum possible 10 points.
Please submit your scores to me (midnight@midnightsynergy.com) by October 15th - you have plenty of time to play as much of these levels as possible, but don't forget to send in your scores .
You do not need to play all levels in order to submit scores - just submit scores for the levels you have played.
We will collect and tabulate scores, and post results/announce winners in the next issue of the Midnight Post.

The latest Midnight Post has the results of the 5th Anniversary Competition. I do want to make two general comments.
1. Thank you to all who entered. Submitting a level for public scrutiny can be a bit nerve wracking, but from all the comments I received I know that your work was very much appreciated. Big congrats to the winners, but also to those who didn’t fair so well in the scoring. Many levels on the lower half of the list had some very big fans according to my e-mails, so even if you didn’t score so well, you’ve made some people very happy!
2. I also want to say a special hello to the three grand prize winners: Liz, Janet, and Lillie. The three of you have been longstanding members of the community, and you have been a constant source of joy to many with your creations on this board. My hat (actually, blue wool cap with a red ball on top) is off to you! (And e-mail me with your address for your prize claim)
Best,
Patrick

Well, good for you Emmy. I was wondering who finally ended up with it. That was so nice of her to do that. I already have all the games and I'm not greedy. None of my kids expressed an interest, they have their own favorite games to play so...........
Congratulations Diz........
