I think it's funny, don't worry.
To clarify, what annoys me is when people dismiss it without any consideration. One of my friends heard about it around the same time I did, watched the intro, and decided he didn't care. Fair enough.
Next time I talked to him, I was already a brony, and he resorted to insults because I liked it. We're not friends anymore.
Anyways, Ep20. 'Twas awesome. Metal Gear references everywhere.

I love MLP one of my favorite shows but my friend said being a brony would make me a bad person...
it made me sad

What's his reasoning? Just because it's meant for another demographic?
To be perfectly honest, I think it's much worse for him to say that than to like the show (mainly because there's nothing wrong with liking the show). If he doesn't like it, fair enough, but that doesn't mean anyone who disagrees with him/has different tastes is a bad person.

The season finale for Season 3 is very disappointing. Even with the songs, I was expecting more depth to the story.
Also derpy:

Equestria Daily wrote:It looks like the Disney negotiations ended up as false. Hasbro released a statement on the matter for
Prividence Journal:
Stock in the Pawtucket-based toymaker (HAS:Nasdaq) spiked 6.8 percent to $38.66 at the opening bell amid speculation that Disney (DIS:NYSE) was preparing a multi-billion dollar bid for Hasbro.
Hasbro declined comment, citing its policy of not talking about rumor or speculation. CNBC analyst David Faber reported that Hasbro's advisors told him there's "absolutely nothing going on that they are aware of at all, in any way, shape or form" involving Hasbro or Disney.
Wall Street analysts said a Disney acquisition didn't make much sense, just after Disney agreed to buy Lucasfilm Ltd. for $4.05 billion. And for any deal to happen, Hasbro would have to dissolve agreements with Disney's competitors.

It's been over a year since this topic was last seen, but I thought I'd bump it considering the Season 4 finale just aired. It was a brilliant pair of episodes up until the final five minutes; I hate the way Twilight earned her key.

Qloof234 earlier on this topic wrote:Having said that, there is quite a huge fanbase on the internet (a lot of members are male, too; enough that the term "brony" was coined for male fans of it) - despite being a show meant for young girls, it's garnered a lot of attention for multiple reasons:
1) It isn't overly sweet for a kids' show. Yeah, it has quite a lot of pink and hearts and the like, but that was due to a corporate decision. The creator (Lauren Faust, the wife of the guy who made Powerpuff Girls and Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends) intended for it to be watchable by anyone.
2) It doesn't treat kids like they're mentally incapable. The characters rarely state the obvious, other than some of the end-episode-moral stuff.
3) The humor is mostly genuine, instead of being "lolsorandumb" all the time. While there's nothing wrong with that, it often gets old quickly.
4) The characters have genuine personalities, instead of all being cookie-cutter characters (so to speak). In fact, the protagonist in the first two episodes (Twilight Sparkle) doesn't approve of friendship either (you can tell by the expression on her face whenever anypony else mentions being friends).
5) There's genuine character development - As mentioned above, Twilight's a bit of a loner, but by the end of Episode 2, she's above that. There are some other instances between other characters as well.
6) The colors aren't overly bright or dingy. Of course, the environment is bright and colorful, but not to the point that it'd hurt ones' eyes.
7) I don't care what anyone else thinks, this is one of the most adorable things ever when it wants to be. Proof: Fluttershy.
And yes, I did just write a long post about ponies.

Personally, I can understand the appeal, but I don't really like it. It's too optimistic for me. I don't like excessive optimism.

I'm not a bronie, but I can easily say that I think it's an overall good show.

I have watched about a season of it.
Not at my will, of course, but like I said, it's a good show nevertheless.
