I haven't played Minecraft since 1.8 came out, but wouldn't a sky trap work by killing the Endermen with fall damage?

Finally I have Minecraft. Having seeing the preview video showing the new features for 1.8, I was looking forward to using creative mode most of the time. I'll be recreating stuff from that list I made in this topic and sharing them through pictures and videos.

It is possible to make an efficient Enderman trap search "Docm77 Bird Cage" in youtube, I'd post a link but I don't have time.

It is also quite simple to make an air trap/underground trap.
Air Trap - best works on survival maps in the sky worst works in normal maps, possible to fix by lighting up caves
Requirements: Around 15 stacks of any building material.
Advantages: isn't that hard to build
Disadvantages: doesnt really work in normal maps, requires alot of mining
1. Make a GIGANTIC tower in the sky. All the way to the top, it might take 62 Dirt. (im using dirt through this, although in survival maps in the sky you need cobblestone)
2. Dig down (4 for enderman trap, 3 for no-enderman trap) blocks.
3. Build a 13x13 platform to any direction of the tower. When you are done, get back on your tower and jump to the highest part again.
4. Build a roof over your 13x13 platform. Also place torches on top of it. BUT NOT NEAR THE EDGES!
5. Go back down inside your 13x13 platform. It should be dark inside.
6. Build walls. It should now look like a giant box in the sky.
7. Put a 2x2 hole in the center of your box.
8. Go back down, using your tower.
9. Enjoy your mob trap!
FAQ
Q: My mob trap isn't working on my world!
A: Light up all nearby caves. You might get only 1 skeleton every MC week if you don't do this.
Q: I see mobs on my box!
A: You didn't place torches on it.
Q: Mobs can fall, but they don't die!
A: You might have not placed the trap high enough. If you did, and they STILL don't die, start doing a diggy diggy underneath the spot where they drop.
Q: I see holes in my trap!
A: That's the disadvantage of the enderman trap.
Underground Trap - almost impossible to make in a air survival map, hard to make in a normal map
Requirements: 3 diamond pickaxes 2 diamond shovels 2 buckets of water 2 buckets of lava alot of pressure plates (wooden works best) 2 ladders 1 sand 1 cacti
Advantages: You earn more items then a sky trap.
Disadvantages: Takes alot of time, almost DOESN'T work with endermen
1. Dig deep. Get on layer 42 or somewhere between layer 60-20. To find out what layer you are on, hit F3 and look at your Y. TIP: diamonds/redstone below 16, iron/gold under 3 blocks below sealevel (i think 61)
2. Now, with alot of Diamond Pickaxes, mine out a 5x5 area. Inside it, mine a 2x2 area.
3. Mine a 2x2 hole in the 2x2 area.
4. With your buckets of water, put water on each corner in the 2x2 hole.
5. You have a compact water generator! Fill up the buckets.
6. Dig out a long tunnel 22 blocks., 6 blocks in, make stairs up, Then, 8 blocks in, stair, and another 8 blocks.
7. Now, in your 5x5 room, dig another 2x2 hole.
8. Now, lead your 2x2 hole into a 8x2 hole in the direction of your stairs.
9. Put water at the end of your 8x2 hole. This is a canal.
10. Make another canal. 1 block higher than the last.
11. Repeat step 10.
12. To build a lava grinder, put 2 ladders above a spot where the 2nd canal goes.
13. Dig 3 blocks in above the ladders.
14. Put lava on each end. CAUTION!
15. The last block of lava should land on the ladder.
16. A grinder is made! Now, to make it so spiders do not clog. Just mine up a block in the wall, mine 1 block down, in the mini hole in the wall, put sand. Then put cacti on top of it.
17. HARDEST PART! Mine a 50x50 room, put canals in it, and to make it so all canals are leveled, put pressure plates between each one. Also, the canals must be 2 blocks down in the spawning room.
18. It should work if you understand.
FAQ

Have you guys seen what's happened recently between Notch and the Yogscast? Here are some tweets from Notch:
Wow. Hate, insults and threats are flooding in from Yogscast fans. I'll stop biting my tongue now.
Yogscast repeatedly insulted people, talked behind their backs, refused to cooperate, and acted like total spoiled divas nonstop.
They called us "a bunch of nerds who don't know how to run a company", demanded that we pay them to come here (nobody else got paid).
And they claim they're the reason minecraft is big and that we should thank them more than anyone else in the community. They're total *censored*.
A kid wanted them to sign something I had signed, and they said they'd cross it out and put "censored" there instead.
Everyone else in the Minecraft community is all about respecting and caring. They're not. They're an isolated island of egos.
(These are actually by Notch, if any of you follow him on Twitter you can see these.)
My personal view with this is that it MIGHT just be a gigantic troll between the guys. I might be wrong though. If so, I still believe tweeting this to the world wasn't the best idea, cause now there's just hating from both "sides".
In the end, I just hope they get along. I like both of these guys and I'm not taking "sides".

I'm 90% positive that the Yogscast are trolling. I really don't think they're stupid and arrogant enough to try to claim Minecraft's popularity. I've watched some of their videos before and they seemed pretty nice.
