At the start, try getting the box into a corner, then walk diagonally into it to get it away from the wall.

But it's in the demo right...:?

So you could use that... :?:

But isn't the Demo missing a bunch of important coding, like chompers?

Well, regardless, the next demo of QT should be released at the end of the week at the latest. I've also started working on the hub for the version to use in WA.

I plan on making the Editor version a bit larger than originally planned, by putting in some areas from the hub.

*bump*

Okay, I planned to release an Editor demo a LOOOOOOOOOOONG time ago yet I still haven't, whoops. Only reason I have is because I started working on the hub system and managed to get a 4 area hub and 7 adventures into WA.

Current plans are for an Editor version demo being released by next week at the latest, and a demo of the WA version by... No idea when, maybe when it has 20 adventures.

Poll time again:

The WA edition of QT has a beginning area outside the building where the majority of the game (test chambers) take place. Should the Editor edition of QT also have exterior areas?

A: Yes
B: No

Won't work for one simple reason.

The DSi I got from Best Buy has a broken R button. I'm not kidding, I got it from there, have never dropped it, yet it's still broken.

Thankfully, I have a warranty on it so I should be able to get it replaced soon once I feel better (Got a cold from having to run around in the freezing rain at school  )

ok. (I have a DSi also 8) )

Is the next demo almost ready? :)

btw, is "best buy" a shop :?:

Yeah, Best Buy is a pretty general electronics store. Nice place, but their service kinda fails at some places.

I think that the next Demo should be done pretty soon, provided nothing unexpected comes up.

Okay, okay, I did say a demo would be done soon if nothing unexpected showed up. As it is, this whole weekend has been full of unexpected events. Most problematic is that I got a cold (again) today.

Despite everything, I think I might be able to get a demo done by Monday after school ends, provided I feel better.

*Ka-bump*

Okay, new conundrum. I've encountered a huge problem with the hub system.

I've made areas up until the part where the player would enter the facility the game takes place in. Only problem, WA MAV's whenever I try using a custom level texture.

Halp plz?

You use the \'s and .bmp ?

by Qloof234
I don't mean TextureName stuff, but a level texture (e.g. the Portal texture for the level).

I've encrypted it and put it in the proper folder, but the game MAV's when I enter an area using that texture.

TextureName files and stuff work just fine, however.

EDIT: LOLOLOL 1414 POSTS LOL

Okay, does that mean that no one knows how to fix the problem? Because until I fix it, I won't be able to release a hub demo of QT... :?

Nope, none yet... School has quickly gone from mildly amusing to a total Hell, but I just got a new Xbox 360 yesterday, so I'm pretty distracted.
ben-09 wrote:How is the one big adventure going?
I'm still working on the hub seeing as it takes up more time than the one big adventure, but it's still WIP.

I just bought The Orange Box yesterday, which includes portal. :)
I just have to say...

PORTAL FTW! :P

I love this game!
It is so funny! :)
Its so fun to push over a turret and watch it scream "Arragh!" and shoot randomly.
And the atmosphere is awesome. 8)

*MAJOR BUMP*

Can the guy in charge PLEASE give a specific solution on how to fix this problem:

Couldn't load texture(glass.bmp)
Trying again
Nope

If you're getting that error, check to make sure that the following is all true:

- There is a folder called Custom in your WA Editor v096 directory. It has to be in that specific folder or the game will not load.

- Check to make sure that you have the glass.bmp file in that folder. If you don't, the game will not load.

If the above statements are true, then try redownloading the files from Page 1. They need to be in the WA Editor v096/Custom folder. Not Custom Content, just Custom. If that folder doesn't exist, create it.

I put glass.bmp and all the others in the right place, but it still doesn't work! How did the people who got to play this level solve the problem?

*Huge bump*

I'm great at updating, aren't I?

Well, I still haven't been able to figure out why the hub version hates me so much, so I'm going to try something completely different with it. Likewise, I can't figure out why the game won't pick up on the glass.bmp texture if it's in the custom folder.

I'll start updating again as soon as I have more content for once.

WHOOO I'M GREAT AT UPDATING AREN'T I

Yeah, okay, I really messed up now. I'm still working on QT, nothing to worry about there.

Overall, I was just distracted... Homeschooling, Minecraft, Portal 2, and lots of other stuff come to mind.

However, I do think that the Editor version will be done sometime this year.

Really.

Bump/DP.

Okay, now that school's out and everything's blown over (and I've stopped staring in awe at stuff from Portal 2), I'm finally starting to get some time to work on this.

I should have an update in a bit over a week or so, depending on what's going on (blah, car trips).

It also depends on how much editor stuff I still remember. The more still stuck in my head about using it, the more that's going to get done (hopefully).

Yeah.

Bump again.

Okay, so anyone who's been checking off-topic probably knows how the laptop on which I was working on QT is dead. Is QT's data dead? I have no idea. Even if it has been damaged, I am NOT giving up on getting this done. Even if it has to be delayed until next year (which isn't all that unlikely), I'm going to finish this.

Bump. As a new Portal Fan, I demand that you remember this exists.
EDIT: And didn't Portal 1 have only 24 chambers, including GLaDOS's Chamber?
If you want, you could instaid make a WA version of Portal 2.
