SOME PENGUINS ARE BLACK AND WHITE (fact)
OLD PHOTOGRAPHS ARE BLACK AND WHITE (fact)
I could go on. It's not about facts/opinions, it's about the syllogism not having a proper structure.
The correct structure, for your case, would look like this:
"All mammals are animals. All humans are mammals".
Aside from the all-inclusive word "all", the main difference is the first line. Notice that the order has been switched, compared to your version. That does matter logically.

Right! Besides, those statements are no facts, they depend on agreements between people, about what's our definition of those terms.
In my opinion, the shortest definition of a mammal:
All living beings, where a mother produces milk to breastfeed a baby.
According to that definition, humans are mammals. Well, if someone agrees with that definition, and also agrees that mammals are animals, that person also
has to agree, that humans are animals.
But, as Muzozavr says with some other words. I can agree with those 2 statements:
SOME ANIMALS ARE MAMMALS
WE ARE MAMMALS
does not mean that I agree that humans are animals.

I forgot to tell, but the Dutch (and also the German) translations for the word "Mammal" include all of it. Dutch: zoogdier, German: Säugetier.
Zoog, Säuge => zogen, säugen => suckle, nurse, lactate, a mother who breastfeed her baby.
Dier, Tier => Animal.

Highlight to see the answer to puzzle 1:
Deer. Every year more and more people run over them, causing crashes, which kills people.

I already had the idea, but I didn't say because it is wrong! .
The deers do not kill people. The people are being killed because they collide with an other living being, which is going much slower then they go themselves.

Technically, they do, since if the deer wasn't there the people wouldn't have died.
AND THAT WAS SOMEONE ELSE'S RIDDLE TO ME.

Technically, they do, since if the deer wasn't there the people wouldn't have died.
So, you would also say: The most dangerous plant is a tree, because it kills so many humans in various gruesome ways?
AND THAT WAS SOMEONE ELSE'S RIDDLE TO ME.
And what riddle was that?

WHAT OTHER PLANT IS DANGEROUS?

I guess that's supposed to be the answer to my second question? Will you please put a link to it, then I'll take a look at it.
What about the answer to my first question?
Technically, they do, since if the .... wasn't there the people wouldn't have died.
Here are a few more, that you can fill in, instead of the dots:
- deer / tree
- people
- car
- battery of the car
- gas in the car
- road
- sun
- air
Perhaps you can say that those things are dangerous, but I don't think that all circumstances when someone is killed, have killed that person.

Actually, it was a response to your first question. And my brother gave me the riddle.

OK, I see there was some misunderstanding.
AND THAT WAS SOMEONE ELSE'S RIDDLE TO ME.
I thought you were talking about a different riddle, that someone else had posted here on the forum, but it seemed you talked about the same riddle. Doesn't make difference to me though.
I think the words "A has killed B" is only be used if the killing is done intentional, or in rage, but not if it happens in an accident. When there is a traffic accident, then perhaps there is a person to point out: Person A is responsible for the accident, but not: Person A has killed person B, because it's an accident.
And the deers are not even responsible for the accidents. We, humans are much more intelligent then deers (probably the biggest difference between humans and other animals

) which makes us responsible for most things. Probably the deers weren't aware that the cars are going so fast, or they even haven't seen the cars at all.
When I said this:
So, you would also say: The most dangerous plant is a tree, because it kills so many humans in various gruesome ways?
My question was actually if you agree with only the bold parts; not to have a talking about other dangerous plants. But you gave me an idea. Here is another easy riddle:
In the area where I live (and much more places in the world) are some plants growing; if you sit for about 10 to 15 minutes under those plants, even without having physical contact with them, you're dead, unless you wear protection. What plant is that?

Pollen allergies?

No, it has nothing to do with an allergy.

Hint:
It has actually nothing to do with the plant itself.
Big hint:
It's about the place where those plants grow.

Insects and/or animals that live on/near those plants?
Posted: Sat Feb 11, 2012 6:17 pm
by Marinus
No, if a human would be too long at that place, he/she will die, but the cause of death will be no
living being, neither a plant, animal or human.
The cause of death will be just a stuff, a matter.
And no, that stuff is no poison or so, in case someone would ask.

I thought this was a pretty easy riddle, so I'm surprised that no more people seem to have an idea. So here is another hint:
Not only humans will die if they are at that place. Since this topic seems to be about mammals:
In the end (as far as I know) all mammals will die. Not all of them within 15 minutes (BTW the 15 minutes was a rough guess); some may survive for an hour of perhaps a few hours, but in the end they will die.
Final and biggest hint before I give the answer. Only highlight if you're sure you want to know
Of other kinds of animals, other then mammals, some of them will also die, but there are also some, who have no single problem to be there for a very long time.
If no one has any idea by tomorrow, I'll give the answer.

Nobody wrote:Coral?
Actually I'm not familiar with coral; I didn't even know if it's a plant or an animal, but Wikipedia says it is an animal. There is also no coral in the area where I live.
However, I think you are very close to the answer.

Seaweed!

peegman wrote:Seaweed!
I will count that almost correct. However, seaweed can be above sealevel when it's ebb tide. In that case you could survive under it, for about 6 hours.
The plant I had in mind is simply a water lily.
That lives in water which is almost always the same level, and the leaves and flower are no higher then the waterlevel.

A miner is deep in a cave. He finds a lava pool, with water on the other side. All the miner has is a pickaxe and an empty bucket. How does he get to the other side of the lava pool?

Use the pickaxe to cut a bridge-shape out of the rock, and move it over the pool.

Use the bucket to bail out the entire lava river.
