If you mean the times when they're publicly released, the game will probably be released before the editor.
tyteen4a03 wrote:Each time MS works on a new game he HAS to update the editor as well for the new gameplay elements.
No he doesn't. MS does not need the editor to create levels.

Did the adventure makers of Mysteries of Fire Island use an editor?

If so, then why was the Mysteries of Fire Island editor created, but not released?

I don't think MS use an MOFI editor to create levels. If it was an editor, why he won't release it? No reason why! He will absolutely send us the MOFI editor if he'll have it.

It is a fact that the level designers for MOFI DID use an editor, however Patrick added a lock to them so it would only work for the designer's computers and nobody else. Plus, the Editor had an expiration date on it if I remember correctly (like our WA Editor has had in the past for whatever reason).

As for why he hasn't released it yet............ Eh, I got nothing.

I'm thinking he's waiting until WA3 is released before he updates the Editor because updating it now with all the MOFI stuff, then updating it AGAIN for WA3 stuff would be too much work.

Yes he does need the editor. Quote from earlier posts:

So you said programming and done right? Does that mean you're in the adventure designing stage?
Midnight Synergy wrote:Not quite... there are some things left, and the editor needs to be updated with the new bits & pieces.
Which implies that he needs the editor. After all, do you expect him to cramp all the .wlvs together in his mind? xD

He's saying that the editor needs to be updated so the adventure designers will be able to design adventures.

You do realize that the editor was programmed after WA1 was finished, right?

Midnight Synergy built his adventures by using Blitz3D.

Doesn't mean he couldn't make it with Blitz3D.

And yes I read the Midnight Post, I meant he released the editor after WA1. The same time MOFI was announced, I believe.

You said programmed, not released. And the screenshot is from the early build's editor. Patrick didn't just program the editor for fun.

Blitz3D IIRC does not come with an editor. To make the .wlvs Patrick has to program an editor for his use, and every time he makes new game elements he needs to update the editor so that he could place it.

OFF TOPIC!!! Enough info. about WA1 MOFI editor or other things like that. We are talking about WA3 progression not editors or 3D programs.

actually... The Editors and blitz 3D are related to the game. (These what make things work)
but the editor. Ignore!

Question -

If the current editor is v0.96, will the POTZ editor be v1.0, v2.0, or v3.0?

(Somewhat) Valid arguments for each, I suppose would be:

v1.0 - It is a complete editor.
v2.0 - It is the second "version" as it is the second editor that has been released.
v3.0 - It is the third version if you consider the MOFI editor v2.0.

Pretty sure I figured out what does the "future" magic do.

Is there more than the Indigo magic? such as making for the white magic or rainbow magic something special.

I'm pretty sure indigo was reffered to as "the last remaining rainbow magic" in the midnight post, so I don't think so.

Too bad white isn't considered a part of the rainbow.

That doesn't really mean that you figured out what it will do. Just because you say something doesn't mean MS will do it.

Lucky? I don't even know the actual meaning of that word
They say if something you don't expect happens in an unexpected and lovely way, you are lucky
Other words I don't know are: cute, fashion, sweet, classic, false, ...
