Possible Bug Solution?

Hi,

I've been experiencing similar crashes to everyone else, and I think I've been able to stop mine from happening. Maybe the other people crashing can try it out.

Originally for Game Display, I used 1280X960, 32 Bit, Full Screen. I kept on experiencing crashes, especially in one particular level. I tried lowering the display to 1024X768. So far, I have not experienced any crashes (even on the one I was having trouble with).

Now it might be by random chance I am just getting lucky and will eventually get a crash, but I wondered what Game display level everyone else was using.

Hi bpurcell,
I haven't really had any problems, except with a couple of levels that apparently have too many of the same objects in them. I have mine set at 16 bit 800x600, but have have a monitor that's about 5 years old. It still works fine, but I don't want to push it too hard.

Thanks for the post bpurcell - that should have been my first questions to those having bugs - I assumed the bug happens at any resolutiont, but perhaps not. Could those of you that experiene the crash lower resolution to 800x600 or even 640x480 for a while to see if it helps? If so, that would confirm my suspicsion that it is a video-memory issue (still hunting the leak).

I'm already on 800 x 600, 16bit, fullscreen as my monitor is 5 years old and it looks awful in higher resolution. I don't think my video card is as good as some other peoples, but I have only had one crash and that was on a custom level. I've not had any problems playing the set levels.
