New Texture - Gravel And Wood

New to the game so I thought I'd give creating a custome texture a shot.
I think I need some more gametime to make a level.
Hope I'm doing this right. It's my first time uploading and my first time using Winzip except for the self-extracting function.

Edited file and post.

Except the absolutely lame "READ THIS" version of sign, this is AWESOME!
You are a very talented (wo)man.

Looks great Larry - well done! :D :D :D Now you are going to have to make a level to put it in!

All I don't like about the texture is the break tiles and sign, which don't look very nice. Could you please edit the texture?
Apart from that, it is a very nice texture. :)

This Better?

I think I got the zip file changed also. If I didn't, and someone downloads it, please let me know.

I thought your texture was fine the first time.
And I hope we see a level from you soon too.

You shouldn't let comments made by RUDE boys make you change what you want to submit.
(Shame on you guys! :(. )

You seem to have removed only one of the tiles, and then added 2 new ones. On my download, the new ones weren't in the folder, altho they were included in the .zip file. So I just dragged them into the folder. One filled in the spot for the removed tile, and one replaced/overwrote the sign tile.

Keep trying, it is a bit confusing at first. :)

Yes, it is better, I think.

No!!
I don't know about Muzo, but I was trying to help. And it is the texture creator's decision.
If they revised the texture, then they wanted to.

She means your "All I don't like about the texture is the break tiles and sign, which don't look very nice. Could you please edit the texture?" comment. It's like saying: "I don't like the break tiles. Can I edit them so I don't have to look at them?"

This texture is awesome! going to have to download it soon...
And I agree with Lillie, why not just say nothing if you haven't anything nice to say? otherwise the creator could get upset when you say you don't like it. I liked both versions - The old one (Bye Floor, Read This) Made me think about some LOL! moments i had before. the new one makes me think of the sewers in WA...
The comments... they sounded rather rude. You don't want to give anyone the wrong impression, do you? :(

Great texture! :D
I don't know what it looked like before, but it looks good to me right now! :)

PS: You guys could be a little more polite... if you want the texture altered, you should state a reason why you don't like a particular tile, not just "I don't like it, could you plaese change it"

All I don't like about the break tiles and signs is that they weren't natural looking.
I was only trying to help.

The sayings are different, but they have similar meanings.
Now do you understand what Lillie meant by UNBELIEVABLE COMMENTS?
Now do you understand what John925 meant in his post?
Remember, this is Wonderland! Anthing could appear, you know!

Everybody has their own opinion.
EDIT: Larryoke, would you mind giving your opinion?

Larryoke, the first version of your texture was just awesome because of the pointed out thing.
Now it's BRILLIANT.
In my opinion, the first version is simply good and the second one is excellent.
Shows how 2 tiles can significantly lower the texture quality.
I too, didn't like the break tiles and the signs for the same reason -- they weren't natural. Now they are natural too and the texture improved a lot and became brilliant from just awesome.

(BTW, Lillie, I love how you took only part of my post. Without the later about the rest of the texture and Larryoke being talented it really looks unbelievable.)

Muzz - I only highlighted the hurtful things you said to make my point, I did the same with mqdar's comment. I didn't hightlight the other part of the post because I didn't have a problem with it. But ........

Larryoke is a new member. He/she has taken the time to create a new custom texture - which was really good. I certainly cannot create textures/models. It is normally the custom on this forum to welcome and encourage new members when they are posting for the first time, but especially when they have created something cool like a level or a custom texture. There is no need for critisism - only encouragement!

I just cannot believe why you would tell someone something they have created is "lame" - unbelievable and totally unneccessary in my opinion. I also couldn't believe my eyes when someone is asking Larryoke to CHANGE the texture because they don't like it!!!!! Totally unneccessary and downright hurtful in my opinion!

There is honesty and there is tact. Maybe some kids don't understand tact and how tactless comments can offend people - especially new members! You were both new at one stage and I bet you wouldn't have liked it if someone had said "Great level, but it was a bit lame - could you edit it please!" In other words, not good enough - please try again!

Lord only knows what Larryoke is thinking about all this - please don't be put off by all this Larryoke. Maybe you were not bothered at all by these comments. But this is just my way of asking the kids on here to try thinking about what you post in the future please!

Was my comment so hurtful with the followed text about Larryoke being talented? Really?
You've picked up my comment WITHOUT the follow-up text -- and without he follow-up text in my opinion it looks more hurtful than it really is.
BTW: I PMed Larryoke the reason why such things can get out of me, but now also post it here:
When I feel that someone made a mistake (at least in my opinion) I can sometimes point it out in a VERY rude fashion. What's worse is that I'll not notice that! That is because although I can get a little angry it's very hard to make me seriously angry about someone pointing out MY mistake. That is quite good, but unfortunately may lead to situations like that.
And I didn't even say anything about actually editing the texture. That was mqdar. :P

You are a good dude Muzzy - and a great asset to this forum! :stinkyhappy:

I too have posted some pretty stupid things on the Forum in the past - it is good to learn from your mistakes!

Sorry if I overreacted a little bit!
