In the above level to get the yellow shard, what exactly do I do to get the yellow shard, can't figure a way out to put the fires out, Help!

In the wasteland is there something I should be looking for, or is that it! just a wasteland

Getting the yellow shard is in the Wastelands.

Previous text was all wrong, so I made new text.It's more like a whole solution to me. So I made a spoiler instead.

That's the factory!
There is 1 thwart garding 2 buildings/towers
First get the yellow gate open, so you can get the blinking gloves.
To be safely go to the button, freeze the thwart first.

To safely blink towards the factory and the orangish doors, freeze the thwart first then blink.
You'd better wait until he pops back up to move towards 1 tower.
When the thwart shoots at you, blink aside, to the other tower.
Its shot will hit the tower and it will shut or pull out a wall (don't know what it is)
So stand before the other tower and go picking up the coins
When the gates are open, blink to it and get the star.
Outside you'll receive the shard!!

On my previous post I was writing about the yellow shard.

First words were as in green shard, the heading, but never mind, wrote the post, back to the game and did it, but thanks anyway.

To put out the fires you have to blink to the pillars in front of them, wait for the Thwart to fire and blink out of the way. The fireball hits the fires and blows them up.

i think i might have missed something (maybe a level) on getting the green shard.
i finished the level where you need the keys.
now i am where you get the twist and slide & the chase is on levels.

You're in the right place. As you do each of those levels you open a rainbow button which gives you a stepping stone. Once all the stepping stones are in place you can cross them and enter the green shard level.

thanks popo. i finally realized that after i went back to where the gate is & looked back around the areas prior to the gate. at myself.
