Pyramid "Doors"

I'm In the pyramid and have completed the right side (scritters). I am now stuck on the left side. I have a few questions:
- Is this a matter of luck or strategy?
- Is this possible without doing something special?
- HOW DO YOU DO IT?

There is a sequency the gates follow. Be patient! And save your game!!
Just enter the gates that are open and watch what happen.
Don't expect a solution from me yet. Im still at the Mushrooms.
I've been till the end. But telling you in detail what to do, I can't remember.

It is strategy. Some doors open faster than others, some slower. One of them is almost always open. I can't remember the exact path, but I do remember I went about half way through to the door that stays open longer than the rest of them, then stood on it waiting for the others to open.

When the top 4 are all down, walk to the green square and stay there until the last 3 all go down.

You have to do a step backwards in the middle before moving forward again. It goes something like this....
Red, orange yellow green gates open - walk to green gate.
Cyan gate opens - walk to cyan gate.
Green gate closes and opens again - step back onto green gate.
Cyan gate closes and opens again, indigo and purple gates open - walk through.

While I wait for the green gate the cyan one always eats me.

Hi John,
Stand in front of the gates. Wait for the combination: red, orange, green, yellow. Quickly go stand on the green, and stay there, till the other three gate goes down.
