MUSHROOM KEYS

I have all of the mushroom keys except for one. The level solutions say that I can get the last one from Patooters but all he gives me is a flower. How can I get this last mushroom key? HELP!!!!!!!!! I'm almost finished. I just need this last star.

Pahoota's Mahootah's is in the Wondertown Square where the fountain is. He stands just south of the merchant who sells you stuff. He has a couple of mushrooms by him so you can't miss him!

That is who I am talking about, Patooters. All he gave me was a flower, not a mushroom key. I give up. Thanks for your help anyway.
