I don't know how to get past the yellow timer/buttons/gate. How does it work?

when you get there press the timer button then the round button then step off when the timer stops the gate should open kinda complicated

I can't see how to do it. I know stepping on the timer and then stepping on the round button and off again lets the gate stay open after the timer stops. If you step forward the gate gets you and if you step backward you are on the timer again and then when you have to step on the yellow button again and you get caught by the gate. And of course you are trying to doge cannon fire too. I would appreciate a step by step walkthrough to get past the yellow gates please. Sorry I just can't figure it out.

I don't have any fake walls by the round button.

There is no way to do this level. There is no fake wall by the gates.
