Help please!

I gave my Dad the Wonderland Games CD, which I won in a Contest in this Forum. It only has RTW included. I want to buy the Deluxe and Platinum for him.

So, my question is: Do I buy only the Platinum version, or do I first need to buy the RTW Deluxe version, then the Platinum version?

(I can't find the answer in any thread...I know it's probably there, but I just don't see it. And it's been so long since I bought mine...I can't remember.)

You shouldn't need to buy anything. The platinum edition comes as a free upgrade. Just go to the MS website and look for updates, then download it and unzip it into the RTW folder, it will overwrite all the necessary files and add a few more, and it won't delete any scores or such.

Just looked on my CD and it says Platinum is included. What version does it say you have when you load the game? If it's 3.# then you have platinum, if it's 2.# then it's deluxe and you can download the update. If it's 1.# then get in touch with Patrick because it should be a later one than that.

It turns out, he has the Platinum version. So, I'm walking him through the Registration process via telephone and when he clicks on Submit, it tells him that his email is already in use! How could that be? I looked on the Member List for Philip66 (his username) and there aren't any with the same name.

You say his emailadress is already in use, not his username. Is it possible that he already tried to register with the same adress but another username?

Well, he doesn't know about PM's yet. I'm trying to teach him everything, but his eyes got tired and he had to take a nap.
