Looking for WA:MOFI testers!

Hello all,

this is a general call to forumites - I would like to invite 5 or 6 forum members to join our little "Mysteries of Fire Island" design group as level testers. Your job would be play adventures as they are created and (a) look for bugs and (b) comment on their fun/playability as well as difficulty to help me judge if/where the level fits in the overall game.

This is not a paid position, however you will get to play the game levels (and more) early, your name will appear in the final game credits, and you will receive a free copy of the final game for your efforts.

I'm looking in particular for experienced veteran Wonderlanders, and you definitely need to have good English communication skills (to clearly tell us about your thoughts). I'm also looking for a somewhat diverse group of hardware.

So, if you are interested, please e-mail me at midnight@midnightsynergy.com, along with your full name, your forum name, your hardware configuration (which Windows, laptop/desktop, processor and graphics hardware - if known). Please make the subject of the e-mail "WAMOFI Tester". I'll be making selections in the next week or two, so please let me know soon.

Cheers,
Patrick

you are right... I forgot to do this.

I'm very happy to announce the group of talented designers who will be working with me on putting together WAMOFI - they are (alphabetically): Boppelist, Lucky-Luc, Mark, Mette, Mqdar, Wondertown, and myself. Not all wanted to be named publicly, so there is also at least one anonymous designers. It's a very diverse group and I'm very much looking forward what we all can cook up for you! :)

Thanks for submissions so far - I won't respond individually until another week or so (when final picks are made), just in case you don't hear back from me via e-mail right now.

I've been asked for a deadline - let's say Friday, June 20th. That should be enough time for most people to see this post and send in their e-mail.

Talking about hardware, is this new adventure going to be playable on older and slower computers?

In my case for example, although I have much faster computers, they run Linux (I need them for work), and the one dedicated to Windows (thus Wonderland) is a slower P3/1GHz with no graphics card, so the CPU has to emulate the graphics and when there are too many flickering objects, the keyboard does not respond very well. No need to mention that Wonderland-Adventures is totally unplayable.

(by the way, it would be nice in any future game to have an option to reduce the "Detail Level" to zero, so the CPU is not consumed by graphical tricks)

I have sent out 5 tester requests, so check your e-mail. I'm still waiting for all five to "accept", if somebody doesn't I'll send out another from my list. (Once all five are set, I'll announce here - but if you didn't get an e-mail yet, chances are somewhat slim. Sorry - there were just waaay too many requests.)

Same here. The only chance I have is if someone who's chosen drops out, but that seems unlikely to me.

Thanks jdl. I'm looking forward to it.

As my mom used to say, "It's all fun and games until someone loses an eye."

I may end up staring at the screen for hours on end so, hopefully my eyes will stay in tact.
