452LIZM - Mystery of the Moor Finale
Hi All
Time to say goodbye to Dartmoor for a while.
The fab four have met up in Ottery St Mary for the famous Tar Barrel Festival. Read more about it here if you like:
http://www.otterytourism.org.uk/events.htm
You'll need the LizDevonH house pack which you may already have.
Using the Dartmoor texture - download here if you haven't got it.

Good luck with the race, and have fun!

The 4-some made it home triumphantly and most important, safely.
The green button was not covered by the cannon, but by a prism.
Thank you Liz for this whole wonderful series!!!

This has been another fun travelogue Liz!
Who wouldn't have fun carrying flaming barrels of tar.
Setting up that cannon for the final shot took some doing!
Thanks again,

Bob, what was the big deal about the cannon's final shot?
just position it and it makes a direct hit at the barrels... destroying itself as well in the process.

You're not supposed to blow up the cannon, you're supposed to put it on the green button and I found that a little trickier.

Amnon - I was trying to blow up the barrels directly with the cannon but I couldn't do it!
Push the cannon to the square to the right of the trampoline (left of the teleporter ; above the generator) - you need 3 characters for that!

You two are starting to confuse me, I assume you're talking about a
reflector to cover the green button because I thought I was missing something and when I went back to re-play it I couldn't find a prism.

Oops, sorry - I meant a "reflector", but wrote "prism".

Finished it, but need to go back and re-do the last part. I didn't get the generator going, thus didn't get the floating bonus coin, but at least got them all out of there safe and sound. Thanks for the fun series Liz.
Edit: went back in for the big finish, and did it a bit differently in order to get that last coin, but went home a winner at last!

This was a great finale Lizzie! So sorry to see this end but I know you'll have more adventures for us and the gang.
I was making the cannon and last barrels way harder than they had to be. Finally I saw that it was basically set up for us and I just had to push a few things into place. Of course I blew a few of the gang up a couple of times but they bounced back no problem.
I left without two of the bonus coins. I just can't see how to get them. I'll have to go back if I ever finish the one before this in the Moor series.
Thanks for all the fun gorgeous!

This was a great finale of a great serie. Really a festival!

The start was quite difficult for Stinky left his barrel behind on the green button, but after some reading I understood it was supposed to put a cannon there. After a barrel of beer it went much better.
Just like Robyn said: the reflectors were set up. We "only" had to bring the cannon in position. After finishing I also tried Amnon's way, and of course it's possible but I think it's even harder then your intended way.
Thank you for this great serie!

I see you and the other big level machines have made already new levels.

Is there a trick for Loof to get the barrel past that second boomer? I'm just not fast enough.

I wondered that too for a long time...no trick just precise timing and fast running.

Well, a cat with a headphone may be faster then a turtle or a snail, but who knows; if you change your avatar in a jaguar....

What I did with that boomer is as soon as the boomer takes a right around the bottom of that square he's circlin' start a pushin'!

Exactly right Robyn. You take the bonus coin and wait there until the boomer has just gone round the lower left corner, then run and push all the way up that alleyway.
I got caught out there several times!

OK, I'll keep trying. Loof has such short legs and can't run very fast.
Edit: I'm back, sorry it took me so long I kept having to clean the stinky guts off of my monitor..
Finally got my timing down getting Loof past that boomer, he actually made it past several times. When I first started this level up I was so busy reading the first sign that I didn't realize I was running out of time. You must have had some fun testing this one to get everything down so close to the wire.
Had a bit of trouble with the middle where the break tiles and tramps were, that turned out to be fairly simple. Then I had two of my stinkers near the exit and Stinky got caught in the red gate.
Loved all the popping noises as they exited one by one. This was a lot of fun Liz, I enjoyed every last moment pushing around the tar barrels. thanks for a great series.

Am I right in starting with Stinky? Is he supposed to be able to get that barrel all the way past the cannon? I can't even make it do the first break point without the barrel getting shot

Maybe I am missing something? Help please

I can't even make it do the first break point without the barrel getting shot
If you start running with the barrel as soon as the level starts (yes, when it is still dark), then you can take the barrel up to the second break point in one go, avoiding the first altogether.

Thanks Amnon - I will turn the light off and run in the dark and see what happens!

Hey Liz,
Fun level! I had to take out the second boomer because I could never get the timing just right. Thanks!

I need help naturally, I got stinky's barrel, I got loof's barrel, I blew qookies barrel (and the green cannon, is that supposed to happen?) but now I'm stuck with loof right after he goes thru the red gate. I've died so many times, I could fill a graveyard.

Sorry about that Lisa. It is indeed a dangerous level, and a huge one. No you're not supposed to blow the cannon, it's used to keep the red timer going by blowing up wood boxes from the generator. A trick invented by Keeks.
When you tramp over the barrel onto the coin, push the cannon down round the ice and stay where you are. The barrel is blown. Use the reflectors to blow the top 2 boxes and then to make a bridge north. Push the cannon R round the ice to keep activating the box generator and red timer.
Good luck!

Which way do I bounce to get loof out of the bonus coin area?
Posted: Mon Sep 13, 2010 6:32 am
by Liz Mayhew
In the bonus coin area, Loof jumps U. Then walks L, D, R to collect the coins.
Jump U, D, L into Peegue's alley. Follow Peegue into the cannon area and stand where the time clock was in the alley above the reflector.
