I'm here (see attached) ... I can go right and meet a big friend(?), but how do I cross the water and go inside here?

You need to go to Sundog Island before you can even think of going in there. You'll get there eventually.

I think you will enter this place when you completed all levels.
This was already known in some other threads.

So keep on playing and read all threads to find your stars quicker!!
