New Level - Arise, Sir Stinky !!

Hi Wonderlanders,

This is an idea I had some time ago and was possibly going to use it
for the SmallWorld competition.

Maybe I should have as my entry didn't win anything

Although I have downloaded all of the custom levels I have only
played a few so if something similar has been done already then
I appologise forthwith.

Anyway, give it a go and I'll await your comments with broad shoulders.

Apologize?!?!? :o No need! It's rather impossible to create truly original levels anyway, many levels tend to contain bits and pieces that are similar to what others have already done. Besides, it's not as if Wonderland itself is completely original either; there are definitely various (very) early predecessors that have inspired its gameplay.

I haven't played your level yet, but as long as it's fun and have something of interest, it'll be good enough for all of us. 8)

NEATO KEEN!!! NOBODY has a level with that special effect and made it useable (that I am aware of). CONGRATS, well done. Now I understand your title choice. Amazing, isn't it, how many mini puzzles you can fit into such a small space? Bravo, more fun please . . .

I actually stumbled across the answer to this one by accident.

Very clever use of, shall we call it, a 'bug'. (sorry Patrick :D)

Well done malcdelsol, great level.

Okay, I've looked over your level. I havne't played it yet, but I did saw that you put some steel blocks on ice. So if you're doing what I think you're doing, then yes, I've played around with this with the level editor, but as usual I haven't got the time to actually make it into a real level.

I should note that the earliest incarnation of this showed up in one of the Wonderland/RTW levels, but not because of placing something on ice to start off (which the level editor tutorials recommended against anyway, so it's not exactly a bug but more like an unsupported feature of sorts). See DG's "Screenshot" thread on the "General" forum.

You might want to try something similar with reflectors, especially stacking multiple reflectors on the same location; the resulting reflective properties is quite interesting...

I had so much fun figuring this out and it was most clever. :D

This is one of those puzzles I will play again from time to time because it IS fun.

Thanks!

malcdelsol,
I really enjoyed your level. Took me a while to figure it out! :D The "glitch" was not a glitch to me, but a very smart use of boxes by Stinky! Very well done! :D

ok ok ok I give up. The ice/metal block part. I've played around it, the only thing I got it to do that was weird was making 1 block dissapear!!! Well, that didn't help me. I need a hint for that part please!!

At the very end you have Stinky push the lower metal box toward the exit. He'll follow it but ends up inside the box which protects him from the UFO. Then you have to time the spikes and you are out of there.
Excellent use of "the glitch". My students love this one!

Don't feel bad, :) , I only found it by mistake! And I was concentrating on doing something else and accidently pushed it,. I really liked this level, it had some classic misdirection (similar to a mystery story) and I was completely taken in by it at first. But I finaly got it, as a result of a mistake. Very cool level. 8)

I laughed outloud when he was sitting there in the box, giggling at the UFO !!!!

Excellent!!! Thanks for the hints :D

I would just like to make this happen AT WILL when making a level!!! (Whenever I get a glitch like this when making a level, it messes things up!)

Hi Wonderlanders,

Have family out with me at the mo so only just got the chance to get back onto this forum.

Looks like most of you have completed this level. I based it entirely around finding a use for the 'glitch' and then worked backwards.

Anyway, from your replies it seems that it gave some good 'playtime' and a few laughs

I am totally stumped on this one. You mention pushing a box and following it. Ok, understand. But I don't end up with a box to push. I use one ball to break the two wooden boxes and fill the hole. Can't use the second ball to finish filling the hole so I use the one metal box. The other two metal boxes I use to fill the lava hole.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks
Peggy

Hi Peggy,

Welcome to the forum. :)

You don't need to put any boxes in the lava, one boulder then the metal box, use the second boulder on the yellow button.

I don't want to spoil it for you so , here is a hint.

You need to push the bottom metal box over towards the exit.

If you need any further help please ask.

Good luck

Maureen. :D

One of Malc's easiest levels.

Well now I played all of Malcs levels (at least those that are under his name). It was a great experience and I am looking forward to help anyone who finds themselves in difficulty in any of those levels.

Wow, really??

You're monumental.

To save myself some trouble, could you please send me an archive of all the Malc levels? I have little time right now but I'll play them whenever I get the chance to. 8)
