Can someone tell me how to finish the first room?

:D Great level. Thanks. :D

Sammy, keep trying for a few days. Asking for help 1.5 hours after the level is posted, is a bit early, don't you agree?

I'm working on it Mark ... what a stinkeroonie!

Got out of the first room but I can't help thinking I've done that bit wrong.

Back later ...

EDIT: Forgot to say that I think Anne's texture is brilliant. Thanks Anne!

Hey Mark,

Another challenging level as usual. I'm thinking that I need to
have the UFO destroy the top barrels
but I don't know how to do that without getting killed. May I have a hint, please?

Thanks so much for using my texture!

This one was really hard.

I ended up peeking at the editor, and even then it took a while to complete.

Anne, I'm afraid there is no easy way out - just avoiding, avoiding and avoiding the UFO, long enough until you are saved. The best way is to stand still and move away only as the UFO reaches the square next to you, and this you need to repeat several times.

The solution is actually simple, just nip the UFO with the gate. The two barrels are destroyed without the UFO.

Aha, I haven't seen this solution, I can see it now: it makes it easier in the beginning, but later on it increases the risks of being randomly killed (or at least having to time some moves very well).

There's no random killing here. You can solve it everytime.
Here's the solution for the first room. Thank you, Marinus. :)
Push left barrel up on green button and other one inside green gate. Get clock next to yellow gate. Push box down on ice and quickly step left pushing boulder. Repeat, but step right to clock. Push box 2 left and 2 up in the water (using breaktile between icecurves). Roll boulder down to destroy both barrels. The generator will activate the yellow button so you can exit.

I had no trouble doing the first room correct and getting past the z bot. I need help covering the red button. I can't seem to get the jump right to get a pink cube onto it. If I can cover the red button I think the rest will come to me. Thanks for help on that part.

Thanks Mark for the walk through. I really needed it. I would of never made it past the red button either without help. It was fun trying to figure out though. It was still tricky getting it done with the help.

I knew I was doing the first section wrong so I was glad of the walkthrough and able to spend my time on the remainder. :)

Set-up was certainly important!

Challenging level Mark, thanks!

I was definitely misdirected with that UFO and was running the gauntlet over and over at the beginning  The proper way of doing it is much easier 8)

But I'm also stuck with the red button problem. Lots of other bits too actually

Here's help for the Red button:
First redirect the z-bot to cover the white timer. Then jump R+D to slide the remaining goob up beside the tramp.
Then jump R-R-D-U-L-R to the red button. Finally jump L and push the goob right over the tramp on the red button.

I too fell big time for your misdirection at the start, after that it was working out the wonderful many tramps and breaktile preservation and finally taking that final box on its epic journey.
Brilliant work Mark, thanks! :)

Thanks to some help from Bob I've now managed to cover the red, the green and the light blue buttons.

But I see nothing to put in the water by the yellow button so I can't get that coin. Stuck again!

Loof must bring the harvest home in a supply crate.

At last I did it! I was leaving that vital crate in an unmoveable position in the z-bot room.

Excellent fun Mark - lots of puzzlement and lots of dangerous jumping.

Thanks for this one. :stinkyhappy:

I must not be tramping either the box or myself over correctly. Will you please tell me how to get the box in the water by the yellow button?

P.S. I tried to duck behind the mushroom, but that didn't work.

Well, shoot, nevermind - I got it. Figures.

Solution

Here's the complete solution courtesy of Marinus. :)
1. Push left barrel up on green button and other one inside green gate. Get clock next to yellow gate. Push box down on ice and quickly step left pushing boulder. Repeat, but step right to clock.

2. Push box 2 left and 2 up in the water (using breaktile between icecurves). Boulder down to destroy barrels. (boulder-generator will activate yellow button)

3. Go through yellow gate and push box left and 2 down. Walk around over white timer, push box 1 left, all the way down, and 2 left in the z-bot room.

4. With right timing get coin on breaktile in z-bot room. When z-bot goes down, quickly push box down so z-bot goes to the right room. Then push box 1 more down and 2 right, so z-bot activates white timer.

5. Jump RD, push cannon 2 right and goob 1 up. Then jump back up to the first room and walk around. Jump RRDULR to red button. Jump L and push goob right over tramp on red button.

6. Jump DL and push sphere inside boulder up. Jump RLR and push sphere left. Jump DL and push boulder up.

7. Jump RLR and LD, and push sphere up. (it goes on green button) Push boulder right and when it rolls back push it up. Push cannon down to be destroyed on the 2-way conveyor and get coin.

8. Push box right, down, all the way right through black TP and then the same way as the boulder. After pushing it up over the tramp to the first room, follow immediately so you stand left of the box. Then push it in water next to yellow button. Get coins on yellow button and above conveyor-button.

9. Jump RRDULU next to yellow sphere. Push boulder right on aqua button and get coin behind gate. Jump RRDULD to last coin next to bottom cannon, and quickly push box left in exit gate and step up. Cannon will shoot box, then exit.

Great level, Mark. I kept getting caught in that darn yellow gate all the time so I became quite skilled at dodging the bottie and the barrels.

I'm so glad that your levels are small. Thanks and keep them coming!

Thank you Anne. I wait till after the barrel crashes before stepping through that gate. My next level will be even smaller.

THANK YOU!!!

I could never do it without the solution, and I could barely do it WITH the solution.

I would get to one point then blow up, then try again, get past it, and blow up. Then I would mess up the first part again, get to the second part on the next restart, and blow up. :x

As soon as I finished the level, I had to go back and try again just to see if it wasn't a fluke.

All in all, I guess it was pretty fun...just next time, PROMISE me you won't make a level with so much exploding!!!

I try to give each level a theme. This one was "Tiptoeing through a minefield".
What's life without a little danger, mystery and suspense?
I'll try not to repeat this challenge but instead offer a new one.
That I'll promise you. But it might be dangerous.
