472LIZM - Snake in the Grass

Here's another snakey one. Again using Anssur's SnakeSkin texture - thanks Russ, and also using the model set - this time featuring Popo's grasspatch model - thanks Pauline! :D :D

Both can be downloaded here if needed:

There are some nasty snakes hiding in the grass.
Have fun and try not to get bitten!

EDIT: Sorry for the over-use of models  I've cut the level down and taken out a couple of the snake arches. It also gave me the opportunity to prevent a little side-stepping of a puzzle

Hey Liz,

I don't have enough memory to play this level and it looks like fun. Is it too much trouble to post a "B" level without the models and trees? I would go in the editor and do it, but I'm not sure where the stops need to be for the spheres. If it's too much trouble, please don't bother.

Hey Anne, I had the same trouble so I just took out alot of the trees.
Liz, I'm still working on it. :)

Hi Liz
Got an MAV too, but it worked after reducing the level size in the north, east and south with the editor. Hope you can fix it. Sail ho!

Hi All

I've revised the level, cut it down to size, taken out a couple of models and added one vital piece of equipment which plugs a loophole! :P

Enjoy!!! :D :D

I think it's more likely to be the grasspatch models that are causing the mavs. Each blade of grass has numerous polygons, and added together each grasspatch model has over 1200 polygons. Put a few of these in a level and you can see how the polygon count goes up, and it's the polygon count that matters when you get a mav. The arch model has only a few polygons and shouldn't cause a mav unless you have hundreds of them in the level.

Nice looking level though Liz. :D

Carry on. :P

I didn't really want to take out the grass models because they hide so many things!

If anyone is still having problems seeing the level, let me know and I'll cut some of the grass!!!!!!........

Thanks Lizzie!

Hey Liz,

I'm struggling to get the bonus coins and exit, too. Do you have a walkthrough handy where we can see one step at a time?

[Edit] Got it all figured out! Thanks for a challenging level. I wasn't putting my cannon to good use.

Thanks to Marinus for his screenshot.

I finally mastered this gem 8) 8) at first I didn't have enough boxes and then I couldn't get the bonus coins. :x Although I have to admit  I solved the first one with the gold and the B version with no bonus coins so I may have used your loophole :? either way it was a fun challenge!

This looks awesome, thank you so much! :D :P :D

Thanks for playing everyone! For anyone who needs help, here is the complete walkthrough.

SNAKE IN THE GRASS WALKTHROUGH
1. Step down and push box up and right. Then using the tramp and breaktiles push it down into the water.
2. Before the conveyor starts again run round and push left box up into water and top box up into water. Wait on top box and push new box down and right into water, and left box down onto white button.
3. You need to be quick here. Step on the conveyor timer, go through white gate and push green sphere right. Run back up through white gate and push top sphere up through TP before a new box destroys it. The light blue and yellow buttons are now covered.
4. Go through green TP and push cannon up through it. Back through TP to move the cannon down to 1 space below the conveyor timer. Then go round and push it left onto the sunken box.
5. Step on the conveyor timer and push the remaining box down through the light blue TP and up into the water. Push the other box up through the green TP and down into the left water. Fill the other 2 waterholes under the coins. Collect the coins.
6. Step on the conveyor timer and quickly run up and right across the boxes and conveyors to push the green sphere left. Get out of the way and it rolls back to cover the dark blue button. Collect the coin above the yellow button if you haven’t done it already.
7. Go up and right to collect the bonus coins.
8. Go right and collect the 2 coins by stepping downwards (not by sliding left or you drown). Through the gates, collect last coin and slide down to the exit.
