Help, confusion with askabouts

Ok, I am totally confused with askabouts, I kind of get them, but i'm just a bit confused

Like, e.g. you start the askabout with function 3 and you press one of the askabouts and it goes to the next interchange, so how would you get back. (this is just an example).
Please, give me some help!
