e-mail address in posts

Hey all,

I noticed while going through some posts here on the board that a couple of people had asked for stuff/hints to be e-mailed to them. They then went on to give an e-mail address in the format name@host.com.

Notice that it automatically becomes a link?

A bit of advice folks:

DO NOT POST YOUR E-MAIL ADDRESS IN THIS FORMAT

Malicious 'spam bots' (not Z-Bots) troll the internet and are able to automatically read from web pages these e-mail addresses when they are in this format. Before you know it, you're on lists and you will be bombarded by all sorts of nasties.

Best idea is to use the format "name AT host DOT com".
I know it looks stupid, but members will be able to change them to the proper format if and when they need to use them and spam bots wont even know it's an e-mail addy.

Just thought I'd pass this on. :)

Thank you....I never thought of that. I found one of mine and changed it, I'll change the other one if I can figure out where we were talking about making t-shirts.

Thanks again! :)
