WA3 Crowd Sourcing: The Logo [Closed and Winner selected]
Posted: Mon Apr 29, 2013 6:17 pm

Hi all,
I really want to ensure that WA3 gets done and done well by summer's end. There's still a lot to do, and I think I will need to consider getting some help from the community.
* I haven't decided on levels yet. So far, I've designed them all myself, and it may actually be more work to set everything up for level submissions than doing them myself. Possibly more on that later.
* Closer to release, I will ask for a set of beta testers. Don't submit your name to me yet, it will be ignored. I will send out a message when it's time.
For now, I thought it would be interesting to see what folks could come up with for the official Wonderland Adventures 3 Logo.
Similar to Wonderland Adventures: Mysteries of Fire Island, the logo should contain the original Wonderland Adventures logo, followed by a larger design for "Planet of the Z-Bots".
Rules:
1. Email your submission to midnight@midnightsynergy.com with Subject "WA POTZ Logo Submission" by May 19. Do not post your submission here and help keep the suspense.
2. I will select possible contenders and post them here after the deadline, at which point everyone can post their preferences.
3. I would prefer .bmp or .png format. .jpg will work in a pinch. Make the image larger rather than smaller, so that it can be scaled easily to different sizes.
4. By submitting you agree that, if picked, your logo will become the main WA3 logo used in the game and on other material. You will be given credit in the game's credit section, and a free copy of WA3 upon release, but there is not other payment for the work.
Best,
Patrick

Now the question is: Where is the original WA logo?

This'll probably be helpful.

Not really, because there's still background behind the logo. Removing backgrounds from images is annoying.

It's easy to do with certain programs.
BTW, there's a logo with a black background in the Data/Graphic folder somewhere.

Here you go guys.
I'm going to assume you have to leave the background black so that the game will detect the color and make it transparent automatically.

Yeah, you do. You can also make it transparent first so it's easier to work with, then make it black afterwards.

Gonna try this, it seems I have plenty of time!
One question: are multiple entries allowed?
Also, it would be nice if we had some Z-Bot graphics avaible to use...

Yeah, that's exactly what I was thinking. it would be nice to have some Z-Bot graphics that we can use.
Not sure if multiple entries are allowed, but there's not much point since it can be tricky to get a really glossy graphic.

Yes, black background would be best.
I've attached another version of the original WA logo.
No graphics are really needed for this, it's mainly just ideas for the font. Techno, retro (think 1950s Sci-Fi), colourful...
With graphics etc it would be fun to do a "movie poster" graphic for the game (or the entire trilogy). That might be another thing down the road.

Is this for the possibility of the WA Trilogy on disk?

Or maybe another Midnight Synergy Game Collection, probably after the next game after POTZ (
Please another Classic Series, Frazzled 2, or Intensity XS! That would be great!).

I think whenever I submit mine I'm going to make it a zip full of different revisions since I have a lot of ideas with the current design I have going on right now.

I doubt Midnight Synergy would announce the winner on the deadline date...

This looks amazing! It's a shame I can't draw (or paint) to save my life.

You have to do it on the computer though, not with pen and paper (unless that's what you meant).

Oh no, I've already made a nice logo with something more than a font... just some decorations, but they make everything look just like it should
Also, I'm sure I can make few logo projects, as graphic design is something I do every day. For my current project I've already made 2 versions with different text arrangement and both look nice for me, so I'd like to send both of them... I hope multiple entries ARE allowed...

Yes, multiple entries are allowed - feel free to send as many as you want.

Do multiple entries count as better chance for winning, or does your entries' chances lowered depending on how many you send in (ex. two entries are each 50% than normal chance)

I know I'm not Patrick, but if I were him I'd simply choose the best logo I got - no matter how many logos the same author sent. The other thing is that if you make many logos it is harder to make really good one - it is very hard to keep good quality in all your works.

If I win, could you not have any of my info in the credits, other than my forum username? I prefer to keep my personal info private.
