I far as I remember frrm years ago I read in this forum, that there were more than 105 stars in Wonderlad adventures, and that there were a kind of "flying" mecanism. I can't find any messages about it, så I might be wrong.

After you get 105 stars, open the last remaining gate. There's a sign that will explain everything to you.

And no, you can't get more than 105 stars "normally". The sign, however, explains a lot.
