How do you get the coins without getting fried? I assume you need the coins at the end.

I press one of the red buttons and hide. Some of the zap-bots will come towards you but they'll get fried. For the rest, I just avoid them carefully as possible.

At the end, you can use the alarm to light up the level, so getting the coins will be easier. (And you don't need the coins at the end of the level, but you do need them to get every star.)

Thank you! I got the coins! I had saved the game at that point and gone on. Do I have to redo the places I did or will it add the coins from where I'm at now?

It's never necessary to save the game at a certain point for something like that. Later in the game, you meet a character who will let you revisit old levels, and if you get more coins or gems in them then you did originally, you get to keep them.
