New Tennis Topic

Continued from the original topic.

Jutomi has requested a 'demonic' tennis match, which I accept. Jutomi, once you find this thread, please post here or PM me and tell me if you want to start or I should start the tennis.

BASIC RULES OF TENNIS:

1. There are normally two people (but there can be more.) They agree to make a tennis and decide who starts.
2. One person starts by making an adventure with a new storyline and a cliffhanger ending, entitled "Something, Part 1".
3. The other or the next person makes an adventure continuing on the events of Part 1.
4. You keep alternating adventure parts between the two of you, (or cycle through the group,) keeping the storyline alive through the adventures.
5. If tennis players need to tell each other about things in the tennis, they should PM each other so to not spoil the upcoming plot to everyone.
6. When you and your partner(s) decide the tennis is long enough, one of you makes the last part, ending the story and thus the tennis.

I just had an idea for a variation on tennis that would be totally chaotic but possibly fun. :D

It would work mainly the same; one person would make one adventure that ends on a cliffhanger and then someone else would make the next one. The unique thing would be that anybody could make the next part. Say, for example, I make The Tennis Match Part 1. Forum member A could then decide they want to make the next part. They would do so and release it and then somebody else could make the next part. Now, say Forum member A and Forum Member B both make part 2. Whoever released their version first would be the official one.

It could be a little chaotic, but I think it would be interesting. Thoughts?

I would lose.

I'd be in.

Anyways, I am starting the match with Jutomi and llarson has also offered one, so I'm going to be a little busy for that game right now.

How'd a three-way tennis go?

I'm not quite sure what you mean. Do you want one with you, Llarson, and I, or are you asking how it would work?

I'm personally asking how it'd work, and really would not mind it if we'd have a three-way tennis; it's just that I'd be fine either way, really.

Person 1 --> Person 2 --> Person 3 --> Person 1 --> etc.

Thank you, SS01.

In that case, I am open, so we just have to wait for llarson to see this so he can decide if that's okay with him or not.

So, I've been wanting to do a series of shorter adventures, so that I stand a chance of releasing things ever, and I thought a tennis would be a good way of going about that due to the two people crafting a plot together. In addition, since MNIK has every likelihood of not continuing TMD ever, or at least for quite a long time, I don't have an active tennis going. My first offer for tennis-doing is to Jutomi. However, if he feels too busy with his other adventure-making to take up my gauntlet, I'm willing to do one with someone else instead.

If this is a new storyline, I would like to join. I won't be able however to make any adventures for about one week since my computer is acting crazy right now.

If you're willing to make most of the storyline, sure. I'm really sick of trying to develop new plots; I either become unoriginal or have to work for days on a single area.

Jutomi has accepted via Skype, but I may take up other tennises if I feel I have the time.

Can I be the third member to be in the tennis match making?

I feel that tennises would be a bit more messy when they have more than two people. If Jutomi wants to, I'll possibly concede to his judgment, but if he's indifferent, I'll stick to two-person tennises.

What was The Ghost Thwarts?

Ghostly Third Party

by Jutomi
Not sure what the ghost thwarts were, myself... :?

I did think that a third party would be possible,
but I don't know if that'd really work out with us.

Our 3-way tennis between llarson, Wonderman109, and I
went pretty well, but llarson quite, Wonderman's gone a lot,
and ... well I do a ton of stuff and go all-out.

So, yeah, I'm not sure if it'd be the best of ideas for this round, myself.
Though I do appreciate the offer. :)

The Ghost Thwarts was a tennis between MWM and Emerald, I think. That's all I know.

Oh, I see. I would be happy if, maybe, someone of you will eventually do a tennis adventure match with me. :)

Well, I probably would,
but I've already got three tennis matches going. :)

Maybe eventually I'll have more time to do such, though.

As for now, I look forward to playing your hub. :D

The Ghost Thwarts was a tennis between me and Emerald. Despite, at the time, us both being known primarily for our plotting, the plot of The Ghost Thwarts was an incredibly awkward chain of events. Additionally, on my side, the puzzles were all ridiculously lazily designed. We gave up quickly when all hope was lost that it stood a reasonable chance of evolving into something decent.

Sorry, I meant quit, not quite.

llarson's not even been on steam with me these past couple of months.

Oh, so you also have been deceived?

Everything is a competition. The sooner you realize these tennises are competitions, the sooner you'll be able to win. I tell you this only because you are not in a tennis with me, but are with Jutomi. If you win that tennis, he may be disheartened enough that the morale drop will give me an advantage.

Competing to make the best levels ruins your focus on the storyline. So no, I do not 'compete'.

But it's not about the storyline! You have to win! Winning is the most important thing you can do. This is life, Wonderman. You gotta keep your wits about you. Roll down the competition. STRIKE THEM DOWN WHERE THEY STAND! Best levels? Admittedly, form is important, but not the point.. Storyline? Even less important. You just have to GET! IT! DONE! WIN THE GAME! SHOW YOUR TENNIS OPPONENT WHO THE BEST TENNIS PLAYER. This. Is. Serious. Business.

Me neither.

It'd be different if two+ were to do a competitionary tennis,
but all three tennises to which I am in are mostly based on
good puzzles and good storylines. :P

So, rather than competing, we make sort of a team effort,
which gives not the less interesting results in the end. :)
