New Level -- TOTALLY UNFAIR

No, this isn't the "all the tricks that I know used in a super mega difficult" level that I was planning but never made due to lack of time. I wanted to do that as my epic 200th level (even though I technically made more than 200, what with "Tower Jumper", "Starshine" and my "Shadow" account

) but today's date gave me a
much better idea to make my "200"th level unique without stressing myself out too much.
yot yot5 will not be disappointed, the level is indeed
SPECIAL.
From the eerie silence (if you play the level before any others, otherwise it defaults to track 6), to the extremely (I think) tricky and difficult puzzle with no room to put one foot out of place, to... something else.
Hints:
1. Nothing in this level is randomly placed. Everything is deliberate.
2. The easy way is blocked by THE MOST UNFAIR TRAP EVER. I mean "in the entire history of RTW custom levels" kind of ever. Don't spoil it for others, but do tell me your reactions when you get there, I'm quite curious.
3. Yes, this level is solvable. Once you find THE TRAP, the puzzle will be to figure out how to bypass it.
Happy April Fools. Enjoy!
EDIT: Fixed Mark's shortcut/simplification of a certain puzzle in version B that adds a green button/gate. I'll leave the old one available, but please download version B to play the level as intended.

Congratulations on your 200th level!

Happy to see you on this side of the forum again!

And to think, until the very ending, I thought "Wow, this reminds me of the 'Haunted Storages' level that was removed from the Alien Towers".

I see you've been hex editing...

Psssst! Say no more! Let them encounter the trap for themselves and suffer!
Anyway, there are no hex-edited elements in the level other than THE TRAP (and the music - I have no idea why it silenced the track, though I like the effect... I didn't do anything to the actual music byte??) and the solution is completely fair and square. Just avoid THE TRAP.

So, what was your first reaction to THE TRAP?

That was
"Well, that's that...
somehow I'm not entirely surprized. O_o"
Though, after seeing that there is a legitimate solution, my reaction was...
"Eeaaaaah.... ,_,"

I finally got my Gold Star!

Challenging and interesting.
Actually the puzzle is totally fair.
Thank you for sharing!

The puzzle is, the trap is not. It wouldn't be fun if the puzzle wasn't fair, but it also wouldn't be a prank if the trap wasn't unfair. It's such a ridiculous trick to spring upon an unsuspecting player.
Glad you liked it!

I had to move a lot of stuff around and watch my timing but it does work.
Thanks Muz,

Quite the evil trap Muzo.
I did have to move a lot of stuff around and watch my timing but it did work.
Thanks for this,

Mark has found a way to
greatly simplify a certain section of the level, which is not what I had in mind.
I know it's already April 2, but PLEASE download version "B" from the top post. It adds a green button near top right. If you have solved this level the intended way, you won't notice any difference. It's just that now you
have to do things properly because a certain way to do things out of order isn't available anymore.
And yes, THE TRAP is still there.

Totally unfair indeed - but Stinky made it home safely with gold.
Thanks - I'm on to the revised version now.

About an hour later I've done the revised version - much harder - it seems that I previously did it like Mark.

You know Muzo, the only thing I didn't have a problem with in this level was opening the red gate.
I just did version B and I played it very similar to the first one, I just had to move something around a bit more. Hopefully I did it the way you intended because if there's a version C I'm not playing it. This level's been haunting my dreams.
Thanks again,

I just had to move something around a bit more.
Unfortunately I tried that approach, but was not successful, so I had to do a lot more instead. Now I'm curious how you did it, Bob.

I echo that statement! I'm also curious, now that you're mentioning "a little"... or maybe your "little" is Amnon's (and mine) "a lot".

I never said I moved something 'a little', I moved the reflector around a fair bit to act as a stopper for one of the blue spheres. The same as I did in the first version then I blew up the box and sent one blue over and up then the boulder, then blue down twice.

OK, I sent a PM and bob roest has actually done it (mostly) the intended way.
Waiting for more players to witness THE TRAP and then solve the puzzle.

So what's the sign - how do I know whether I did it in the intended way?

PM sent.

So obviously to begin with I did it like Mark in the unintended way, then after the fix I did it more-or-less as intended, but with some acceptable variation.

CONGRATULATIONS ON 200 LEVELS MUZO!
This one is particularly
EVIL
I've played both versions and encountered THE TRAP in both.
I don't understand what you've done, and I don't understand how to fix it, so I'm stumped.

EVIL INDEED, Well,
you are not supposed to fix the TRAP, nobody can, so you must go around it!

As Amnon said, you don't. THE TRAP is evil, so you can't encounter it at all. Don't step on THE TRAP, find a way around it instead.

I've been working on this for a few days, and I'm happy to report I'm completely stumped. It's a fantastic level, but I could certainly do with a small hint.
My reaction to "The Trap" was somewhere between "Muz = most awesome person ever" and "Muz = most evil person ever"
