Hi Amnon,
It isn't necessary, but it provides another way to escape.
In an earlier version, there was a coin behind the barrel.
If you wish, the gate can be used instead of the barrel.
But not everything in the tent is necessary.
There's a few red,
yellow, and blue herrings.

Stinky and Loof made it out of the dangerous tent.
Your practice level gave me a crucial hint, but it wasn't the movement of the cubes...
