Adventures #50, #55: Gem Chompers Episodes 1 and 2

Gem Chompers is an old WA1E series of mine that I made 2 episodes of (then promptly stopped making). People approved of the idea of me porting it to WA3E, so I did that.
Almost all of the wlvs are untouched. However, I replaced Gem Chomper 2's ending because we can all agree it was terrible. I apologize in advance for the new ending.
Gem Chompers Episode 1 was the first(?) "atmospheric"/"psychological" adventure to hit the discussion board. I was challenging myself to make an unconventional adventure. I don't think that the Gem Chompers duology holds up very well today (especially in terms of its somewhat lacking gameplay), but alas, here it is.
I seriously doubt I'll ever make an Episode 3, but there's always the nonzero chance of me changing my mind. I'm very fickle, after all.
The Ambiance Pack is required for the optimal gem chomping experience.

I remember these two levels. They were quite a big influence for the whole community to design horror adventures; it's nice to see them ported for the new editor.

Ohh, Gem Chompers.
I'll probably replay these to see the new ending. I'll tell you what I think later.

i really should get to making Psyche when i get out of my energy drain.
I loved Gem Chompers, and it inspired me to make Psyche ;3
Nice port, MNIK!

This was actually my first time playing Gem Chompers.
Can't even make it past the third wlv. in the first one and can't make it past the first wlv. in the second one.
BTW, what were the red buttons in the 2x2 grids for in the first Gem Chompers?

DP
Also, this might sound stupid, but in GCII, what do you have to do in Zeen's house? Do you have to go to the arcade machine?

I think I preferred the old ending.

Hey, just saying, MS is cracking down on swearing so maybe change that to what on earth.

I'm probably wrong but I think the dialogue at the end implied it was Zeen.
Maybe it was the Invisible Chomper's true form. I really wish MNIK made Episode 3. I'm wondering where Zeen went myself.

Don't worry, dude. I changed it. BTW, Jutomi described the thing as "the most terrifying thing I ever saw in Wonderland - possibly."

So, for this Halloween, I decided to stream these adventures, while wearing a costume. Specifically, one that involves welding goggles and gloves, thereby slightly decreasing my sight and drastically decreasing my motor skills. So, if you want to see me fumble desperately with the controls for long periods of time, while getting totally freaked out by jump scares, and occasionally I even talk, this might be the stream for you!
Also, trigger warning/extra motivation to watch, depending on how you look at it, I sing a couple of songs from Jekyll and Hyde using my mediocre ability to carry a tune that other people attach mild praise to but I can't stand and therefore I avoid listening to myself sing even though I do it all the time, and my ability to chew scenery to the point of salivating violently. The more egregious examples do not occur during gameplay, so they are skippable if you want to watch things that aren't that.

I was planning on doing a video on this for Halloween, but unfortunately I've been sick for the past week. I ended up having to use my backup plan, which wasn't going to be nearly as good.
Maybe a Thanksgiving special. You know, so I can be thankful I'm not being haunted!
