New Level - Adventure Land

G'Day from Australia!

My first level. A little on the large size & not overly puzzle orientated.
I have a cold at the moment & there's no room in my head for anything intellectual (not that there usually is).

I love a lot of the old RPG's like Ultima & some of the Japanese ones - I had a friend back in highschool who was from Japan & had a PC Engine (this is back in the 1980's) with heaps of really cool RPGs (none of which I could understand)... anyway.

It's a bit of a hash - seemingly straightforward, but don't do the obvious - a bit interactive with interesting use of the 'monsters'.

Timewise it's fairly easy... once you know what you're doing. Turn off the timer & have a browse. I've tried to make it a bit fun with some hidden surprises.

My highscore is 9540 though that can be bettered fairly easy.

I'd appreciate your comments & suggestions. Open it up in the editor & see what you can do to improve it...

Just one hint: Remember what you're mum use to say - 'eat your Veges first...

Enjoy - Robbie

Ooh, looks like a fun exploration! Lots of little surprises, and a nice theme. I'm definitely going to have to play it without the time limit though - I don't get very far before my time runs out. :)

So any luck yet solving it or is everyone trying for a high score?

I managed 9910 before but I reckon 10,000 can be done and a bit more...

I get all the coins & bonus things & then bomb out trying to get the $$ from the Mushroom farm. I'm getting real close to maxing out... I can feel it in my bones... it's certainly not the cold at 38c.

Working on 2 new levels
Adventure Land 2: Dynamite Joe (with any luck before Christmas)
Adventure Land 3: Marge's Haunt (with even more luck, after...)

Cheers from Oz

Very fun level! I have not solved it yet, but am enjoying working on it. What a new look for Wonderland. (At least I think it's a new look. I haven't played past World 4 in RTW yet, though.) This is very creative, Robbie. I'll post later with a score, once I can play this on timed mode.

10010 ! (this is how I would have looked most of the way through)

Whew... Probably 10040,10050 will be max. This would be a job for OldLloyd - you still out there?

Christmas has come & gone, holidays finished… no Adventure Land 2… & no. 3 ???
I truly underestimated the amount of personal time (to myself) I’d actually get during my Christmas break. Nor did I take into account that my lovely wife might get me a GameCube! (Oh joy :D ).
Adventure Land 2 is under way & hopefully will be coming out soon (within the next week I hope…)

For those of you hoping to solve Adventure Land 1 on your own, read no further…

OK.
For the benefit of mpetva, the solution can be found in this modified level which shows all the secrets & how to avoid the nasty zoo creatures all together!
Also some sort of strategy for maximum points.

Regards
Robbie

Hi Robbie,
I enjoyed your level. I actually solved it without having to use your solution! I am eagerly awaiting your next level while working on my own first contribution. Can't wait!
