Coilys

Coilys are annoying.
Jutomi was heavily critised for putting a couple of coilys in one of their levels a while ago. I expect people found them too annoying.
Apart from that level, I have not played any user levels with coilys in them. I suppose they are too annoying to use.
So apart from being annoying, what are coilys actually good for? That is, how can they be used to make interesting levels, rather than really annoying levels because that ONE STUPID COILY WOULDN'T MOVE OUT OF THE WAY FOR HALF AN HOUR.
I can just think of one use: In my boss battle level, instead of the boulders bouncing across in a pattern which is the same every time, you can use a coily to generate some randomness.
...yeah, that's it. Do you have any other non-annoying ideas?
