in the level fire flower flash you see many objects floating in the sky. morklin tells you '' they seem to be pieces of other realities mixing with ours. one of these objects looks similar to the triforce from the legend of zelda. was this intentional

Probably, because there is one more reference to this game: remember the Z-Bot sound "I am error".

There's also a Star Trek reference somewhere...

There's tons of reference sprinkled throughout the games... the "I am Error" is definitely from Zelda. But the "triforce" is - if I recall correctly - a Sierpinski triangle.
