Bigzipz Boxobon Help!!!

Posted: Thu Apr 21, 2005 3:25 pm

Since there have been quite a few sokoban puzzles recently, I went back to play Bigzips 3 box puzzles which I've never been able to do. Today I solved Boxobon 2 and 3 8) 8) but I'm still completely floored by Boxobon 1.

Any ideas?

Thanks for the support Mette - glad to know I'm not the only one who can't do this. 8) :)

Maybe Popo could do it? :?

Maybe if Bigzipz is lurking in the wings he could give us a clue :D

He already has, ladies.

A quick search of the board brought up the original thread.

I've just looked at the link and it seems I couldn't do it either. I'd never seen a sokoban puzzle before though so I'm putting it down to that. :P

I remember that level. It was the first time I had heard of Sokoban. I'd seen that type of puzzle, but didn't know it had a name.

Well I guess I have to admit that IS good O/G

My brain definitely isn't wired the sokoban (sokobon) way. I've been trying this level on and off ever since I bought RTWD

Thanks Old Bear for linking us to the solution - which I've just tried and it does work :D I'd never have got this in a million years.

^^^^ I can see that, you naughty Ol' Gramma.

Anyways, about the level, or Sokoban puzzles at least.

I've always found the smaller puzzles like those 9 letter conundrums you see on Countdown (uk tv program) or in the newspapers. You either see it immediately or never see it at all. This was one I saw immediately.

DiscGolfer, I remember you did a brilliant level around that time where you combined 6 Sokobans into one big puzzle; it was excellent.

Does anyone remember 'Separation Anxiety' (Original Wonderland: World 6, level 3)? Now, there is a Sokoban puzzle!!! One little mistake and it can't be done.

In my opinion, it's one of the best levels from Patrick's original game.

Wow ! ! ! ! ! !

I don't know how - but I managed to complete all three.

Just don't ask me to do them again.

Roger's "oban" levels you do over and over until you can do them blindfold. These you do once and that's it.

Amazing.

Yes Bear, I remember the Separation Anxiety level and went back to play it just now. I agree it's a really ACE puzzle and caused ME a lot of anxiety when I first played it. This time round I got through OK. :)

When I was playing Wonderland Original, I didn't even know it was a sokoban puzzle, or even what sokoban was!

EDIT: Discgolfer must have posted his level whilst I was typing this - just off to give it a try now 8)

DiscGolfer - I said I was a Trekkie, but this level is Trekkage!!!

Poor old Stinky wore out his trainers on the first part. The second part was more merciful. But the third part :o :o :o By the time I got here I was getting a bit low on time.

I now realise I have to treat this level as a meditation, like those floor mazes which pilgrims used to walk around to achieve spiritual enlightenment. 8) 8) To get onto this higher plane, I'll have to turn off the timer, then I won't be panicking.

One day I'll get there

I too went back to try the Soloban puzzle & remembered that I just bypassed it initially or gave up in despair. But I guess from all the practice with "oban" levels I've learned something & finally completed it although not in the time limit. Unfortunately Stinky lost quite a few pounds from all the walking back & forth and is now even smaller than Loof -- he needs a good meal at the local diner before his next venture :!: :!: :!:
