Aztec archway - help me please

Hi all,

I'm trying to make an aztec archway using Robbies amazing models from GE06.
I've created a model folder and put the following files in it:
GE06 - ver 01_b - 3keystones - left right.3ds and renamed to model1.3ds
GE05 - v01_b - Aztec.jpg and renamed to model1.jpg

The attachment shows what I get. What am I doing wrong? Why is there no texture on my archway?

I hope someone can help me figure this out.

Thanks :D
Mette

EDIT: For some reason I'm not allowed to attach anything at the moment. I get the model itself, but it's just white - no texture.

Mette, I think Poops would be the best one to help you. She's very good at sorting the models out and takes a real interest in it. 8)

I'll try to get a hold of her via Messenger for you.

No need to messenger me, I'm here. Ta-daaa!

These are different archways to the first ones he made aren't they?

I've not had a good look at them, but I will try to sort it out if I can. The usual reason for the textures not showing is that they haven't been assigned in the 3D program. Which means that they need assigning before you can use them.

I'll look back through the posts to see if Robbie did this, or just posted the models as they were.

Get back to you when I know something. :D

Right, I had a look at the models, and for some reason the textures are showing as unmapped. That means that they have been assigned but not laid out where they should be. It shows as a little green cross in the corner of the texture coordinate editor in the 3D program. Anyway, as Robbie was good enough to put the AC3D files in there too, I was able to get the one you want from there and they were already mapped. So, hey presto, here's the one that works.

I can only presume there's a bug with that version of AC3D, I have had the same trouble with some models. If Robbie has time, he might have to have a look at them and see if he can do something with them.

Now that it's been mapped, this model should work with the other textures too. :D

EDIT. Bum, I can't attach this file either. Something has gone very wrong since the board was rearranged. I've emailed it to you. :D

I've been busy washing and ironing, then I had my dinner and a cup of tea, then I thought I'd have a quick look on here, and since then I have been making the model work. I haven't had time to scratch my ................................... er ....................................... head. So there!!!!

Sorry girls, been offline for a while.
Thanks for sorting it out Pauline.
I'm not going to say I'll get back to it all soon as I seem to be wearing out the definition.... people will start to think when somewhen says soon, they're talking about some time in the distant future
I am keen though...

Robbie
