I have been playing Wonderland for ages and eagerly awaited the Platinum update. I followed the instructions using Winzip to extract files and overwrote the files as reuested. However this does not seem to have worked and Return to Wonderland is still the Deluxe edition. Help please!

Hello there.....
When you unzip the platinum edition into the return to wonderland deluxe folder it still will say return to wonderland delux...
Have you gone into the editor or into the game/custom levels/platinum set ?????
Oh and the RTW loader should say platinum edition also..........
Hope it works!!!

I just downloaded the platinum version and installed it. The RTW loader does say Platinum Edition but when I click play I get an error message about missing the texture file res12.dat. Sure enough, there is no res12.dat. Is there suppose to be? Could someone send me a copy of their res12.dat file? I'm dying to play!

Hi Peggy .. trust me , I'm no expert, but this happened to me when I downloaded 2.06 yonks ago ... did you press "yes to all" when extracting files ... I did it again and it worked .. it was a long time ago though.
Maybe worth a try til an expert comes along ?

I upgraded my moms for her because she was Christmas shopping and it kept coming up with something about a password I just hit skip and it works fine.....
You need to click yes to all... If I were you I would redownload the upgrade and click yes to all this should work!

Am I right in thinking that this upgrade just gets added to the deluxe version I have already and doesn't install as a separate game like the deluxe did when it came out?
I've downloaded the update but not installed it yet.

Yes Popo, it's just an addition.
You'll get an extra folder with platinum games in your customs levels folder, and the editor will get new features.

I was able to get the 20 tutorial levels running. But the download says there is a total of 156 levels! Are those new ones I can't find, or are they the original RTWD levels plus the 20?
Add another to the list of those who nearly got sick playing the 3D levels - I know I'll never get through this game completely. I like the idea, but unfortunately I'm not up for it.
thanks

While it is an update, i see in my RTW folder a number of exe files. one is called deluxe.exe and this still runs the deluxe version, not the platinum. And when you run this one, while you'll see the "platinum set" folder, it will be appear empty.
If you are using a shortcut to run the game, it might still be pointing to the old delux.exe (or wldgame.exe, see below) file. Make sure you change your shortcut or create a new one.
You'll want the new shortcut to go to wonderland.exe in order to access the platinum launcher.
(similarly, the launcher points to it's own sub-exe file. delux.exe will use wdlgame.exe and wldedit.exe while the wonderland.exe will use wdlgamep.exe and wldeditp.exe)

My shortcut updated itself from deluxe to platinum without me having to do anything.
There are only 20 new levels, yes, the rest are the ones we had already, which disappointed me a bit cos I stopped playing most of the custom levels. That means if I don't start playing them again there's not much for me in the update.
Also, while I'm having a moan, nothing new has been added for us model makers. I was hoping the ability to have transparent objects might have been included, we've been asking for that from day one.
