Good timing needed, and a certain amount of luck. Took me about 5/6 tries but got there in the end. One time I went for a run around on the transporter, but a UFO shot me and took the transporter for himself.

I think these z-bots were waiting for me every time I tried to get the coin. Finally, very careful timing did the trick!
