Hi If Then,
Welcome to the forum!
I recognize the language, as I studied Visual Basic years ago. It's fascinating, isn't it?..
I call myself Mahaloof on this forum, but actually my real name is Local Variable. Just don't tell anyone, OK?

Have a great time here and enjoy the puzzzzles!

What version of VB did you study? .Net? 5? 6? VBA?
One of my friends is a VB.Net Wizard. He taught me how to use ColorDialogs, FontDialogs, and more, I just can't remember all of them now.
RichTextBox1.BackColor = ColorDialog1.Color
RichTextBox1.ForeColor = ColorDialog2.Color
RichTextBox1.Font = FontDialog1.Font

Well, ahem, it was VB 4. As I said, it's been years ago.
The thing was: this course was actually meant for people who had knowledge and working experience with other programming languages.
I had NONE. But they let me do an intelligence test (Wonderland didn't exist then, or they would have given me that, LOL!) and from the result allowed me in. In the end, in the group that did pass the Microsoft exam, I had the highest score. Probably because I had no bad habits to unlearn...
:)

However, building an application in a working capacity is a whole different story and I had never done that. Couldn't find my way in a commercial company and so this whole episode sort of slipped away from me...
:cry:

On the bright side, I am now designing levels for Return to Wonderland and yesterday signed a contract with Patrick M. for some $ 28,000,000 and a signed copy of his book "How to create a superb RtW level without annoying the neighbours", which you can order on Mette's website (well, the book, not the money).

Have a GRAND day,

Local "killer sub" Variable

Now I use Visual Basixix ( Visual Basic 6 )

Code: Select all

Private Sub Form_Load()
Randomize
End Sub

Private Sub Timer1_Timer()
A = Int(Rnd * 10)
B = Int(Rnd * 10)
C = Int(Rnd * 10)
D = Int(Rnd * 10)
E = Int(Rnd * 10)
F = Int(Rnd * 10)
G = Int(Rnd * 10)
Label1.Caption = A & B & C & D & E & F & G
End Sub

Private Sub Timer2_Timer()
Timer1.Enabled = False
Label2.Visible = True
Timer2.Enabled = False
End Sub
:D
