Please help with a game!

Well, it stopped working for some reason. I cannot reinstall because my portal's copy is a copy with no install... (yes, there is such a thing!)
I'm trying to run it, and when it loads to 50%, I get a MAV.
I tried everything, including uninstalling the recently installed Aargon Deluxe Demo, but it doesn't help. Maybe I will switch to Windowed mode, but somehow I feel, that it still wouldn't work.
Any help?
