I still need help with Custom Level Textures in W.A.
I still need help with Custom Level Textures in W.A.
Exactly what the title says. And no, I don't mean the WA Editor.
Whenever I convert levels for Quantum Tunnel's hub version, any level using the "portal" custom texture gives me an instant Memory Access Violation. All the files for said level texture are in the game's data, except it's not picking up on them and just dying instead.
I tried replacing the Abstract texture's data files with the ones for the portal texture, and the level worked ingame, but, strangely enough, it was still using the abstract texture.
Can anyone help? I'm really running out of ideas here, and I can't release the hub version until I have this issue sorted out.
Thanks in advance.

When Cbloopy was still active he PM'd me this little tool....
Here is what he said:
"Ok, I'm seeing that this might happen a few more times in the future. So I quickly whip up a program that hopefully lets you do this yourself. It's not very user-friendly but functional enough I hope, and then maybe some later time I can write a more proper program for it.
Unzip and run the attached program, it'll ask you to type in the path to the source folder where the unencrypted files are located, and then the destination folder where you want to copy and encrypt the files to. It will then look for all BMP, JPG and PNG files in the source folder, and copy them to the destination folder using encrypted filenames."
I hope this helps you, Qloof!

the above post should not be possible.Qloof234 wrote:I should've updated on this - I tried that exact thing, trying to replace "abstract" with the portal texture.
The end result was the strangest thing I've ever come across in a video game - the texture was still the regular abstract graphics, even though the files had been swapped.
However, I have a similar problem with my game made with game maker.
When a certain boss is defeated, the game shows the high score table , and when closed, the high score table ends the game. The problem is, though, the game is given NO instructions to do that when THAT boss is defeated, or ANY boss, for that matter.
What have I dome wrong?
