^_^, go to school, learn to read.
Tyteen:
I see. And I agree. Little z-bot may be joking or may trying out to see at what point Patrick is going to enforce that rule. I don't think that big picture will stay for a long time.
But "going too far" is also a matter of personal opinion. Therefore it's good there are numbers for such things (although there are not numbers for everything, such as, how flashing a picture is) Patrick gave the example of the maximum speed of 50 kph with a little margin. (58 should be no big problem) But XPR (and Qloof, before removing the picture) is going way over 100. And Little z-bot is almost going through the sound barrier.
On the other hand, if there come too many of those silly topics, it can be a bit annoying.

Apparently most people need the possibility to act silly now and then. Several people said they would like to have a silly-stuff-subforum. Since there isn't one yet, they use to make a silly topic in the off-topic's. And I think that shouldn't be a problem. If there are people who don't like those silliness, they don't need to read that topic. So I don't think such a topic should be removed. In another topic, Qloof234 wrote:It was more or less a question of "why does this topic still exist".

There's a fine line between "silly topics" and "spam topics". I'd say a topic about having x amount of posts in x topics is on the latter.
Plus, it'd be more convenient for anyone reading to have both a Silly Stuff forum and an Off-Topic one - I can't be the only one who doesn't want to weed through the off-topic section looking for one that actually is off topic instead of just silly.
As for signature images, I strongly disagree that xpr'd and I were going "way over 100". Assuming that three lines is about 50 kph, then how was my signature - which was roughly 4 and a half lines, that is to say around 60-75 kph - well over 100?
Though I well agree that LittleZBot is going waaaaaaaay over the sound barrier with his signature now.

Qloof, I agree with you about the silly/spam stuff, but I also think there is personal opinion involved, both, about silly/spam stuff and about avatar/signature stuff. The silly/spam stuff bothers you more, and the avatar/signature stuff bothers me more. If you say there should be a silly-stuff-subforum, that's OK with me, although I don't care that much.
I see about the numbers I've to explain better what I mean. I think you are only talking about the signature, but the rule says it's about both; signature and avatar together.
The rule says either:
- 120 pixels + 1 line, or
- only 3 lines.
Before you removed the picture you had:
- 120 pixels (avatar) +
- 1 line (signature) +
- 159 pixels (signature) which is actually more then 120 pixels + 1 line.
So actually you had more then twice then the rule said, hence my "more then 100 kph".

Tyteen's doesn't actually break the rule since it doesn't state that a pic can't be animated. That being said, I personally find this particular image very distracting and would ask you (friendly) to use something else.
But, yes, the signature rule needs re-discussion and a clearer outline. (coming up)
PMs have been sent to LittleZBot and xpr'd to change their signatures. If LittleZBot was indeed trying to test me or the boundaries, then I just have to say: please don't waste my time!

As a forum owner, I would just go and remove their signature.Midnight Synergy wrote:PMs have been sent to LittleZBot and xpr'd to change their signatures. If LittleZBot was indeed trying to test me or the boundaries, then I just have to say: please don't waste my time!
Anyways is that pic really that distracting...?
It's hard to say that it is (as a fact) but Patrick said:tyteen4a03 wrote:... is that pic really that distracting...?
and I would like to say/ask the same.I personally find this particular image very distracting and would ask you (friendly) to use something else.
Some people, especially people with some kind of autism like me, are sooner being distracted by things then other people. Another example: If there are many people (like on a party) talking all together at the same time, I can't understand anyone, it's just one big mass of noise. While other people have no problem with that, because they can filter the noise and just listen to one person's voice.
Actually I found it quite a coincidence that you put that flashing/moving picture in your signature, just after I wrote:

I didn't know that, but I got the idea that there are in Wonderland relative more autistic people then there are among all people over the world, maybe because Wonderland puzzles requires a special way of logic. They said I have PDD-NOS, but if I'm right it only means that I've some properties of autism, but not all of them.

Thanks to Tyteen and the other people, for removing the flashing and/or big pictures in avatar or signature. (Also thanks to those who never used such pictures)
About autism, I think it has good things and bad things, but remember that (as I've been told) great scientists and musicians like Einstein, Newton, Mozart and Beethoven also were autistic.

Its not moving anymore.Marinus wrote:Tyteen's signature wrote:
Am I supposed to say something about that? About the size I can't say anything, because you've no avatar, and no line text. (And you knew that )
But...... Is it an image...... or a movie?
Maybe we're all crazy. Probably.
If you can look at my avatar for 19 minutes, without closing your eyes, you must be great.
