Well, I can send you one file if you wish, at least if you know what file it is. But of course I can't send you the entire game, because Patrick wouldn't be happy if I do that.
Also, you said: reinstalling won't work, so it won't matter if someone would send you the game again.
If you have the options set to mouse/keyboard, but you can't use your keyboard though, then I think something else is wrong with your computer. But to be honest I've no idea what that can be.

I think it won't work even you only send him the file. BFG versions of Wonderland games are specially compiled to work with BFG's DRM (download rights management) system.Marinus wrote:Well, I can send you one file if you wish, at least if you know what file it is. I've had this problem before, but with the WA editor. It's fixable by deleting a certain file in the game folder (but I can't remember which one it was). Once you delete it, the game makes a new one, and you have to select keyboard mode again.
Although I do remember Cbloopy saying which file it was in the hex-editing topic.

Or do a search for the word "*keyboard*", by "*jdl*", in the WA-editor subforum.

I would not recommend to delete files though, but rather to move it somewhere else, but I guess that's quite obvious.

Did you also use Cbloopy's program/script-file to search for that file? The global.wdf file may be somewhere else on disk instead of the MOFI-folder, such as Documents and settings\<your Windows useraccount name>\application data\.....
Another way to find it is making a new MOFI player-account with a very strange name, such as "AlbertHein", and then use the Windows search-function to find it. Then you go 1 or 2 folders up in the "tree" of folders, and there should be a folder "Player Profiles" inside a folder "GameData", which is probably inside another "MOFI" folder. In one of those folders should be the global.wdf
Please let me know if you need more help.

How did you search, using the search function in the "Start Menu" or in a folder of Windows Explorer. Because I noticed that I can't find them either using the Start Menu, but I do find them in an Explorer window. Just open Windows Explorer, go to C: disk, and type in the search bar top-right, what you're searching for.
Anyhow, here is in what folders it is with me, perhaps it helps.
Notice that I have the game in C:\Wonderland\Mysteries of Fire Island. Perhaps you don't have the folder "Wonderland", but probably you have the MOFI-folder inside the "Program Files" folder.
Notice that I have a file: localsaveon.txt in the MOFI folder (top window) That means that I have all saved files inside the MOFI folder (in sub-sub-folders) See the 2nd and 3rd window. You can see the path to each folder in the addressbar on top of each window. You can see that in the folder C:\Wonderland\Mysteries of Fire Island\GameData is a file called: global.wdf and also subfolder "Player Profiles" where are subfolders with the player names
However, probably you don't have the file "localsaveon.txt", but "localsaveoff.txt" in the MOFI folder. Therefore I renamed it back to "off" and started MOFI. What then happened you can see in window 4 and 5.
Notice that in window 2 are exactly the same names as in window 4. But you also can see that it's a quite different path: C:\Users\Marinus\AppData\Local\Midnight Synergy\WA MOFI
Instead of the folder Users/Gebruikers, in Windows 7: In Windows XP was it Documents and Settings if I'm right. Not sure about Vista though.
See if you can find them now, but make sure that the "hidden" files are visible. If I'm right the "AppData" folder is actually hidden.
You also can try to rename "localsaveoff" into "localsaveon", but make sure MOFI is not running then. If it doesn't help you always can change it back.
Please let me know how it goes.
Question to other people (who know about Big Fish): Is it possible that WA games from BFG, have a totally different way of folders and files, then those directly from MS? I guess there should always be files or folders with the player names though?

OK, that looks a bit different indeed But you still can try:
Did you also try the searchfunction top-right in the window of your screenshot? Make sure that you first go to the "root" of disk C: (not a subdirectory) and then type "Sinterklaas".
After you renamed it, start Mofi and set the Mouse/keyboard mode, and try if it works. You also can try to rename "localsaveoff" into "localsaveon", but make sure MOFI is not running then. If it doesn't help you always can change it back.

You're welcome.
Probably you don't have access to your old player files though, which means that you have to start the whole game again from the beginning.
They are still somewhere on your disk; you only need to find them if that's important to you. But if it's OK for you to start again at the beginning, then you just can leave it as it is. Then new player files will be created, and you always can find them: somewhere in a subfolder of the MOFI-folder.

In that case, ^_^ must have not researched the whole MOFI folder completely.Marinus wrote:Guppy of course you're right, but if you read the rest of this thread, you know that ^_^ was not able to find his old player files.
Even I have the bfg version only... I'll show you

Yes it doesn't make any difference except for the MOFI folders ^_^ hadMarinus wrote:Please read the rest of the topic before, especially the "localsaveon/off" part.
And look at my screenshot, to the path where my "alberthein" player is. Perhaps then you understand.

OK if you really believe that you know it better "wise-nose" then tell in what folder ^_^'s old player files are, you know "Sinterklaas" and such.
Otherwise, please don't talk about things you don't know about, and please don't respond on a thread without reading the rest. It's OK that you want to help, but only giving useless information is pretty annoying in opinion.

^_^, Are you sure that Cbloopy's scriptfile didn't work? I just tried it now, on my new computer with Windows 7, and also my old computer with XP, and it works fine. As you can see in XP the player files are here:
C:\Documents and Settings\Marinus\Local Settings\Application Data\Midnight Synergy\WA MOFI
Of course, instead of "Marinus", put your own Windows account name. As for in "7" you can see it in the other screenshot. But you have Vista right? For your screenshot is not exactly like "7"and definitely not like "XP".
I also tried it with the option "Show hidden files and folders" switched off, and it works fine.
In your screenshot I saw you have also a folder "users" so I guess it's the same as in "7".
Please tell me, would you like to have your old player files back, or don't you care at all? If you really want to, I'm 99.9% sure that we can find them!
