Thanks for the feedback. As you know, when designing regular levels it takes several levels before you can get the feel for easily a level will play while you are designing it. So far, it seems to be much more difficult to the get the feel for 3D levels. So far we have seen some really nice looking ...

New Level (3D) - 3D Exploaration #2
So, I have previously suggested that to make a 3D level more playable and appealing it would be good to limit the number of wall (opting for obstacle you can see through or around) and to not have monsters. I seem to be breaking both these rules with this level. Again, feedback is appreciated.

New Level (3D) (Advanced) - Lichi Nuts revisited
This is a revisitation of one of my very early levels using custom content. The focus then was on playing with the visuals so it wasn't too terribly difficult. I think it may translate into the 3D genre ok. Please note: I had to redo the tent model to work ok in 3D so even if you have the models fro...

My thoughts about 3D at this point. . .
So here are my thoughts at this point about 3D (please share your thoughts as well. These are based upon my own limited experience in designing and playing these levels, as well as the many thoughtful comments and ideas of others. 1. There are a number of genres of traditional (non 3d) levels: puzzl...

Oh well, just a thought. As usual you are way ahead of me. As I got part way through your posting I started thinking "hemisphere", but read on and saw the problem with that. Hmm. . . I like what you are doing, I hope some the smart people (including you) can figure this out. There has been a bit of ...

Thanks for the very good feedback. I worried that this might have several aspects that were too difficult if played only as a 3D level. I understand the advantage to posting both regular and 3D versions of the same level. This may ultimately be the best use of 3D, and is certainly easy enough to do....

Pauline -- Stunning!! Would it reduce the size of the file to create a box with a top, rather than a cylinder with no top. You might not have to go so high. Creating the box a bit bigger than the playable level, with some creative tiling of smaller jpg images and either the same or different for the...

3D discussion (renamed, prev. "New Forum needed?")
Oh sure, he's back on the discussion board for one day and already wanting to change things around. . . I would like to suggest a separate forum for 3D first person levels. Pros: For this format to develop there will need to be a lot of experimentation, feedback, discussion and sharing of ideas. Not...

Thanks for steering me to the Venice level. This is the best 3D level I have seen so far. I hope that with some experimentation and honest feedback that we can begin to develop more of a sense of what works in these levels, so that they develop more of a following. For anyone that thinks they don't ...

Liz -- I have only played the 3D version (thanks to wonderlandlover for steering me to this post) and I really liked it. This is my favorite 3D level yet! I agree that the regular version should be in the kids section, but when played on its own the 3D version is more challenging. I know that many p...

New Level (3D) - 3D Exploration #1
This is a first attempt at designing a first person 3D puzzle. I am interested in feedback from people who like 3D first person puzzles and also those that don't. Difficulty? Playability? Interesting? Nausea factor/motion sickness?

I would like feedback from those of you who don't like 3D also. I have a feeling that if we get the de...

Hi Pauline - Nice to hear from someone familiar so quickly. I agree that the first person perspective is a lot different. I guess that was why I was wondering about a naming convention. I think your idea of putting (3D) in the subject line, similar to the (Advanced) notation for custom content is a ...

So, I've been taking a break from the world of Wonderland while I was pursuing some other things that I needed to attend to and I just stopped by to see what was up. . . I love the Platinum additions! I fear (and my wife fears) that I may have to drop other things to devote my attention here again. ...
