Thanks for the feedback. As you know, when designing regular levels it takes several levels before you can get the feel for easily a level will play while you are designing it. So far, it seems to be much more difficult to the get the feel for 3D levels. So far we have seen some really nice looking ...

New Level (3D) - Island Hopping

When I unzip the texture file, I get tiles of varying sizes, which crashes the game when I try to load the level. Is anyone else having this problem, or is it something odd about my machine?

Very nice 3D levels. I know not every one appreciates them, but I thought this was a good level of difficulty, allowing me to enjoy the scenery.

New Level (3D) - 3D Exploaration #2

So, I have previously suggested that to make a 3D level more playable and appealing it would be good to limit the number of wall (opting for obstacle you can see through or around) and to not have monsters. I seem to be breaking both these rules with this level. Again, feedback is appreciated.

Alas, no.

The editor does not allow you to browse through directories to open or save levels, it only looks in the root Custom Levels directory. That would be a nice thing to add to any future update.

New Level (3D) (Advanced) - Lichi Nuts revisited

This is a revisitation of one of my very early levels using custom content. The focus then was on playing with the visuals so it wasn't too terribly difficult. I think it may translate into the 3D genre ok. Please note: I had to redo the tent model to work ok in 3D so even if you have the models fro...

My thoughts about 3D at this point. . .

So here are my thoughts at this point about 3D (please share your thoughts as well. These are based upon my own limited experience in designing and playing these levels, as well as the many thoughtful comments and ideas of others. 1. There are a number of genres of traditional (non 3d) levels: puzzl...

Oh well, just a thought. As usual you are way ahead of me. As I got part way through your posting I started thinking "hemisphere", but read on and saw the problem with that. Hmm. . . I like what you are doing, I hope some the smart people (including you) can figure this out. There has been a bit of ...

Thanks for the very good feedback. I worried that this might have several aspects that were too difficult if played only as a 3D level. I understand the advantage to posting both regular and 3D versions of the same level. This may ultimately be the best use of 3D, and is certainly easy enough to do....

Pauline -- Stunning!! Would it reduce the size of the file to create a box with a top, rather than a cylinder with no top. You might not have to go so high. Creating the box a bit bigger than the playable level, with some creative tiling of smaller jpg images and either the same or different for the...

I look forward to your work internal view of houses, as well as the "internal view" of the sky. Many game engines seem to call these "sky boxes", and I'm glad someone with your skills is looking at it, this is totally beyond me.

3D discussion (renamed, prev. "New Forum needed?")

Oh sure, he's back on the discussion board for one day and already wanting to change things around. . . I would like to suggest a separate forum for 3D first person levels. Pros: For this format to develop there will need to be a lot of experimentation, feedback, discussion and sharing of ideas. Not...

Thanks for steering me to the Venice level. This is the best 3D level I have seen so far. I am not sure why this is not working, but I know for me if I pay attention to where Loof is moving it confuses me. the RLDDL is strictly the sequence of button pushes. While this seems obvious, I sometimes find it easier to not even look at the screen. Let me know if this helps.
