Mystery of Fire Island

Post by Tweakfiend » Sun Aug 15, 2010 2:37 pm

This program does not run in Windows 7 64 bit without disabling a security suite first.
The game exe file is ided as “Trojan.clickerWin32.vbitframe.CSA.

As soon as the game is closed and Kaspersky security suite / comodo suite are renabled , the file is deleted as s security danger .
The whole Fire Island program is therefore effectively disabled.
There is no choice given to safely let it run

Any feedback from any one else ?
I have tried it also in Windows XP SP3.

Where did you download the release?

The only official downloading site is midnightsynergy.com. Well-known game sites (BFG, Oberon) are also a good choice. If you downloaded the demo somewhere else, then that release must be a infected release.

If you downloaded a cracked version and enjoyed it, please buy the full version. There are always discounts, and when you buy the game it also gives you a warm fuzzy feelings about helping MS the indie (?) dev to develope more games like this!

I only deal with midnight synergy and paid for this game and obtained an official download.
I have bought all their Wonderland games over 7 year period
The others work 100%
In facr I downloaded it 3 times from their 2 sites and each download was the same.

I suggest doing a complete virus AND Malware scan because there is no spyware, malware or viruses in the official release.

Sorry
If I did not make it clear... I am a computer builder / installer and beta tester of many years standing, and a) there is no other security issue on myself built PC .
b) only this exe file has been ided as a security issue.
c) I have just re downloaded the file from the BT Micro secure website a few minutes ago...... same problem.

A computer builder does not mean your computer is always perfect.

I am sending it to virustotal, let's see.

Interesting comment........ !

I have tried on a different PC running XP SP2.... same problem.

Windows 7 also shows a file compatibility issue when tested .

Always keep an open mind.

It's not a virus.
I've downloaded MOFI and scanned it with Kaspersky, McAfee, AVG, and Norton. Only Kaspersky labeled it as a trojan.
There's something wrong. Try using a different virus protector.

Hi
As mentioned I have also tested Comodo Security suite and shows the same problem.
Kaspersky is under personal subscription, Norton A/V is also chargeable ,and AVG free version is really not as comprehensive .

I'm sure it's not a virus. Try keeping it on another computer and see if something happens if you keep the "trojan".

I did consider the facts. I'm not criticizing you, I'm just asking what would happen if you keep it. If the trojan doesn't do anything, then there's nothing to be worried about. It'll only be annoying.

edit: oh sorry i thought you were tweakfeind(sp)
