Windows 7 MOFI Patch - Please test

Post by Midnight Synergy » Mon Mar 08, 2010 3:54 am

Hi All,

As some of you have discovered, some of the Wonderland games have issues with Windows 7 + selected nVidia (Geforce) video cards.

There are a number of problems with the video card driver, all of which require some odd workarounds.

I believe I have found a solution for MOFI, and would like it if people could test it and see if it fixes their problems. You might find some things look slightly differently. If you do, please let me know.

The patch is just for the full version purchased at Midnight Synergy (might not work with other portal versions right now). Simply replace the wg.exe file in your MOFI directory with the one in the attached zip.

Again, this if for full MS version only! If you don't have a problem with the game, don't install this patch. I hope it fixes the issue, let me know either way.

As for the status on the other games:

Wonderland + Wonderland Adventures:
As far as I'm aware, both of these run fine without problems.

Secret Worlds + RTWP:
Still banging my head against the wall on these. I can get Secret Worlds to run, but only with random crashes. I will post when I have further updates.

All of this would be so much nicer if nVidia were to just release proper driver support for older games! :(

Cheers,
Patrick

THANK YOU SO MUCH

I managed to get RTW to work somewhat more smoothly by turning on Compatibility for Windows XP (SP3), though it still randomly crashes sometimes. I can still play it, just with random errors.

WSW still hates me though, unfortunately. :(

The new graphics card I found doesn't work anymore. =(

And the patch does not work...
So do I have to get a new card? (I use Windows 7)

No, the patch should work - but not with your broken card, of course. But your old card back in and install the patch (make sure to read the instructions).
