Kickstarter Campaign for Chuck's Challenge

Post by Midnight Synergy » Mon Apr 23, 2012 1:21 pm

Hello all,

As some of you know, the original Wonderland was inspired by many puzzle games of the 80s, including Chip's Challenge for the Atari Lynx (and later PC). Chuck Sommerville, the creator of Chip's Challenge, has some time ago created an iPhone version of a sequel, called Chuck's Challenge.

Now this game is being brought to PC/Mac and ported to 3D. The result looks like it would be very similar in style to the original Wonderland, and so would be of interest to many here.

Chuck has decided to use Kickstarter to fund this project. I'm happy to spread the word for him, so if you're interested in becoming a backer for this project, or just want to see some gameplay video, visit

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/nif ... allenge-3d

Cheers,
Patrick

It's great to see this happening. Too bad I can't really give anything to him right now and when I would've been able to, the 6 days will be gone.

As bitter as my impression of Chip's Challenge was, there still were some great concepts, and if Chuck can do it right this time, the result should be epic.
Rest in peace, Kym. I hardly knew ya.
Rest in peace, Marinus. A bright star, you were ahead of me on my own tracks of thought. I miss you.

I actually spotted Chuck's Challenge about a week or 2 ago (was going to post about it but then forgot  ). I can't wait for this to come out, I'll definitely be buying a copy. :D

EDIT: It seems you've posted a duplicate topic Patrick.

Hi Patrick
Nomen est omen. 'Chip's Challenge' was my first computer game, and I'll never forget the endless hours I spent playing it. My nickname in Wonderland is no accident, it's a tribute to this exceeding game. And a lot of my levels are inspired by Chuck's early masterpiece. Of course I'll support him. Thanks for the tip. :D
Hope you're fine and best regards, Chip.

This sounds like a great game to try. Don't have a few bucks with me right now, or else I would totally pitch a dollar.

Yes, in fact I just had an email exchange with Chuck (Sommerville), and there will be a mention of it in the Midnight Post (yes, it's late... hopefully next weekend).

Bumping this back up - Anyone else been playing this?
